But seeing him leave was harder then I thought it would be. Today was the day he would leave. He saw my sad face and smiled.

‘’It’s just four months, it’s nothing really.’’

‘’Just watch out okay.’’ I sighed and pulled my arms around him. He let me hug him and kissed me on the head.

‘’It will be fine. When I get back, the first thing we do is planning our wedding.’’

Only that thought made me happy. It would be become the best day in our live, finally getting married to the one I loved the most and please, please let nothing come between it again.

‘’Come please kiss me one more time.’’ He pulled me tight against him and kissed me.

‘’I’ll miss you Deryck.’’

‘’I’ll miss you to, but before you know it we will see each other again.’’

I sighed and rested my head on his shoulders. I didn’t want to cry, just for this time I wanted to be strong. But it was so hard to keep it all together. I didn’t want to think about it, but there was a chance that he would get hurt, or even worse. I just couldn’t wait for these four months to be over.

‘’Daddy?’’

Lucca walked in the hallway and looked at us. We were both a little surprised that he called Deryck daddy, since this was the first time.

‘’Yes.’’

‘’I am going to miss you.’’ He walked to Deryck and pulled his tiny arms around him while Deryck bent down through his knees.

‘’I’ll miss you too.’’ He picked him up and stood back up with Lucca in his arms.

‘’Sorry that I was mean to you.’’ He said with some pitty in his voice.

‘’It’s okay. Just take good care of mommy.’’ Lucca put his arms around Deryck’s neck and put his head on his shoulder. I walked closer to them and pulled my arms around them. I felt some tears behind my eyes but I didn’t bothered to stop them.

‘’Can’t you stay longer? So we can play football?’’

‘’No, sorry I have to really go.’’ As he said that the taxi drove to the house. We both knew that this was really goodbye. He put down Lucca and they gave each other one big hug.

‘’I love you, take good care of mommy okay?’’

‘’Okay.’’ And he gave Deryck a big kiss on the cheek. Then he stood up and looked at me.

‘’Will be fine Avril, don’t worry. We came from far. Well also get through this.’’ He gentle kissed me on the lips and gave me a hug.

‘’I love you Deryck. Please be careful.’’

‘’I will, love you to.’’ Then he took his bag and walked away, stepped in the care and waved us goodbye while the car drove away. Lucca ran behind the car and waved him goodbye. My knees got weak and it didn’t took long until I bent down and sat on the floor. Tear streamed out of my face while I covered them with my hands. I just hopped that he would be fine. I felt a little hand on my head.

‘’Mommy don’t cry.’’ I sighed and tried to dry my tears.

‘’I love you mommy, I don’t want you to cry.’’ I pulled his arms around me and hugged me. I knew he understood all that was happening, and right now I loved having him around.
