A long way to go [part 3]

Happily married and loved by two amazing guys there wasn’t more I could ask for. We didn’t had gone on honey-moon yet. We had planned to go to Thailand in the summer. First we wanted to spent some time together with Lucca. And of course I still had to get used to calling myself Mrs. Whibely, not that it sounded strange, but I couldn’t stop saying it. We had a party for two days which were the craziest days in my life. Lucca had gotten many presents and Deryck bought him a drum-kit just a few days ago. Deryck loved music and wanted to learn Lucca all about it. Luckily we had made a rule about it. Only between 12.00 and 18.00 Lucca was aloud to play on the drums, else I would go insane. The noise coming from it was more then just load. I looked next to me and saw Deryck sleeping. It was 4.30 and I still hadn’t slept. I was pretty sure on how that was possible. For about eight days now I thought that I might be pregnant. I hadn’t told Deryck about it yet, maybe I first wanted to know for sure, or maybe I was a little scared about telling me. It would make our prefect picture complete. I was sure about Lucca being a great brother. Two weeks ago he asked me why we didn’t took a baby, because people who are in love take babies. Of course I didn’t really knew what to say, so I just said that’s not that easy. All the signs were there, the test that I had bought was in the bathroom. One more time I looked at Deryck who was sleeping peaceful. Then I stepped out of the bed and walked to the bath room. Without making much noise I closed the door and took the test out of my little bag next to the bath. For a second I sat down and just looked at it, shall I wake Deryck or not? I felt a little guilty because after all we did everything together. But before I could think even longer I heard Deryck walking to the bath room, just one second later he stood in the door opening, with a half sleeping face he looked at me. When he saw the test I smile came a cross his face.

I just want to say, thank you to everyone who read the story I am gonna miss this story some much it sort of became a part of me. But what do I got to say....all storys have to come to an end one day (even when I don't like ending it ) so yes, this is the last update (for now, because you'll never know with me)

Finally we were in the hospital, finally I was laying on the bed and finally there was a monitor next to the bed, were we would be able to see our baby.

‘’This might feel cold.’’

The doctor put some gel on my belly, which started to show off. When Jim came to our house for diner yesterday, the first thing he did was touch my belly. He was amazed be nature, how a person can grown in a woman’s belly. And it truly was special. It was amazing how Lucca react on getting a little brother or sister. He could hardly wait and had all ready picked out which room the baby would get. Of course Deryck and I agreed on which room he/ she would get. He had told everybody in his class that he was going to be a big brother, also he wanted to give his teddy bear to the baby when he was born. After all, big brothers don’t sleep with teddy bears.

The monitor jumped on and I could see some white and black spots on the screen. Deryck, who was holding my hand, looked at me this smile that he couldn’t get off his faced just made me warm and fuzzy inside. How could I just function like a human while he was around?

‘’Look, here you can see the head. The legs, and the arms.’’

We both starred at the screen, all thought there wasn’t that much to see, we both got a little emotional. This was our first look at our child.

‘’Do you want to know what it will be?’’

I felt Deryck’s eyes burning on my face, did I wanted to know it? Or did it had to be a surprise?

‘’I don’t know, Deryck what do you think?’’

He took a breath and starred at our baby on the screen.

‘’Maybe it’s best if it’s an surprise.’’

‘’We don’t want to know it, but if I call you in the middle of the night, don’t blame me.’’

I said laughing. Of course I wanted to know it, but on the other hand not knowing is also special. This was specially all ready, with Lucca Deryck wasn’t there to support me. This time it was so different, it felt like I had grown so much, in the mean time I still felt so weak looking at my child.

‘’I have to get an other doctor, to look at some of the test. I’ll be back in a few seconds.’’

He stood up and walked fast away into an other room. I tried to not get worried, but my feeling told me different.

‘’Deryck, what’s wrong?’’

‘’I don’t know honey….’’

When I looked at Deryck I knew that he was worried to. It might be the hormones but a tear run down my face.

‘’What’s wrong with our baby!! It’s perfect, why does there need to come an other doctor?’’

Somehow I hopped Deryck would answer me but of course he knew as less as I knew.

‘’It will be fine, they just want to be sure, that’s all.’’

He tried to calm me since I was in tears. A nice kiss came on my head, while his hand reached out to my belly. I knew that he was trying to help me, but nothing really helped. The sweet words, nice kisses all felt a lot less romantic and sweet then normal. There was something wrong I knew it. With Lucca they didn’t get an other doctor, why is this taking so long!!

‘’This is Doctor Miller.’’

He shook our hands and looked at the paper. They both swallowed and looked at us, then back to the paper.

‘’We are always honest to our patients. There must been made some more test before we can say it with hundred percent sureness. But
