Two Years Later...
Chris kissed me, full on the mouth, causing me to lose my breath. I always lost my breath when he kissed me. His kisses made me feel like I was turning into mush, like an electric bolt was going through me. I guess it's hard to explain, but I knew, have always known, that we were meant for each other. "One more day Hope, then we finally get married." I smiled at him, I loved him so much. The past month had been hectic. We had our graduation, Chesney's second birthday party, my eighteenth birthday party, and we had been trying to plan our wedding. Of course Avril was going to be my bridesmaid. I couldn't think of anyone better, not only was she my sister, but she was also my best friend. She knew me better then anyone on this earth, well other then Chris that is. God there is still so much left to do.
We were at the mansion, that's where we were holding the wedding and the reception.
"So Hope, are the dresses and tuxes done yet?" My mother asked from across the dinner table.
I smiled. "Yes, finally, I mean it took them long enough."
Chesney started yelling for no reason. Chris walked over and picked her up. "What's wrong little one?" I smiled, he was so good with them, always had been. Alex and Chesney both called him 'daddy' they had since they learned how to talk. They didn't know better, he was always with me, and we didn't mind them calling him so. We only had one more day before we got married. After the wedding, we were going to go to the court house and have him adopt them. Then we would head back to the reception.
"Chesney's flower girl dress fits her perfectly, and is adorable. My dress fits, they had to take it in quite a bit."
That made mom smile. "Well you're too skiny, it doesn't matter how much we make you eat. Live it up girl, you're going to lose that metabolism one day."
I started laughing. "Hopefully not too soon, I like being able to eat as much as I want and not gaining a thing." Chris had gotten Chesney to calm down, and she was now sitting on his lap, eating his food.
Alex saw and cried for me. "Mommy, I want to sit on your lap." He said in his two year old speech. I picked him up and sat him on my lap.
"How is Alex's tux?" My mother asked me.
"He looks very handsome in it, maybe even more handsome then Chris does." I said, smiling in Chris's direction.
"Well, even I must admit that he looks very cute in it." Chris said. "But I don't think he looks better then I do, I think it's a tie. What do you think Alex?"
Alex looked at him for a second. "Hrmmm... I think it's a tie, but Mommy, Chesney, and Auntie Avril win the whole contest. They look bea-u-ti-ful." He said, having to sound out the word 'beautiful'. I smiled, but didn't say anything.
"Yeah, I must say Mommy and Chesney and your Auntie Avril do all look very beautiful in their dresses." I smiled at Chris.
"You're just saying that to get me into your bed. Well boy, you have one more day. So keep flattering me." At that half the adults started laughing.
Avril looked at me. "Don't be so modest, you two have been together for two whole years. You've already been in his bed."
My face went completely red. "I've fallen asleep in his bed, but we've never done anything before. I'm waiting till we're married."
My mom looked at me and smiled. "Well then, I'm very proud of you two. You for deciding to wait till marriage, and Chris for respecting that."
"Well I decided that I didn't want to have another child before I was married." I hugged Alex tight. He was a product of rape, and Chesney, who was only about six months younger then him, had been adopted. Everyone was done eating, and we were just sitting around talking.
"How's the house you two bought?" My Uncle Lee asked Chris and me.
"Well, we have it painted and carpeted. It's pretty nice. I personally painted the kids' rooms. Chesney's room is done in a Dora the Explorer theme, and Alex's room is done in a Cars theme."
He smiled at me. "That must have taken you ages to do."
I shook my head. "Nope, not really. It doesn't take me long to paint stuff like that." After we got the dishes cleaned up and put away, we all went into the living room. The house was completely clean and ready for tomorrow. My mother had personally threatened all the kids to keep it clean, and so far it was working. I was sitting on the floor in front of Chris. Chesney was on my lap, and Alex was on Chris's lap. I was leaning against Chris's legs, just listening to the talking going on around me. I felt safe, and comfortable, so I fell asleep.
I was back in the hotel room with Spencer, Paul, and Mason. I could feel the pain in my dislocated shoulder. Mason had me by the front of the shirt, teaching the other girls in the room a lesson. All of a sudden I was on the bed, and he had a knife sticking out of his shoulder. Everything else went by so fast. The girls each killed the men, then called the police.
I woke up screaming. "Hope, it's ok." Chris was on the floor next to me, both of the children were with Avril on the couch. "What's wrong? What did you dream of?"
I sighed, and shut my eyes again. "Just of that day two years ago. I'll be ok."
He wrapped his arms around me. "It's ok, I've got you, and you know I won't let anyone hurt you again."
That night, I could hardly sleep. I walked down to the kitchen. Chris and I hadn't moved into the house just yet. All of our stuff was in it, but we decided that we'd wait until the wedding, or rather the wedding night, to move in offically. Avril was in the kitchen. "Can't sleep?"
I shook my head. "Why are you up Av?"
She smiled at me and pushed a cup of hot coa-coa across the table to me. "I figured you'd come down sooner or later, not being able to sleep. That's how I was the night before my wedding. Mom had made me a cup of hot chocolate for me, so I decided to continue the tradition."
I smiled at her. "Thanks sis, it's just what I needed."After I drank the hot chocolate, I went back upstairs to bed. I didn't have any dreams, I was too tired to dream. When I woke up, there were rose petals on my bed, and I could smell breakfast. "Mmmmm..." I didn't want to get out of the bed, but the smell of food was calling to me. I could hear it saying 'come to me Hope, you know you want to.' I got out of bed and walked down the stairs in my PJ's.
I got into the kitchen and was greated by Damien. "Auntie Hope! Did you like you're rose petals? We also made you your favorite breakfast!"
Alyson popped up next to my arm. "I helped make breakfast Auntie Hope!"
"Yes Damien I loved the rose petals, and breakfast smells wonderful." Avril placed a plate on the table for me and I sat down. "Did you really help make this Aly? It's wonderful!" She smiled at me, and nodded.
Damien looked at me and smiled even bigger. "Uncle Chris is the one who put the rose petals on your bed, then he left."
Avril looked at him. "Honey, he isn't your uncle just yet. He will be by the end of the day though."
Damien looked upset at that. "I don't care if he isn't yet. Him and Auntie Hope have been together for two years now! And they've been friends their whole lives. So I can call him Uncle Chris if I want too. Plus no one yells at Alex and Chesney for calling him 'daddy.'"
I smiled at him. "Honey, you can call him Uncle Chris if you want to, your mommy is just saying that technically he isn't your uncle just yet."After I finished breakfast, I went upstairs to take a shower. I had a lot to do before the wedding that was only a few short hours away. We decided to have it at one o'clock. I had to shower, get dressed in an outfit I could wear before the wedding, go get my hair done, make sure that the little ones were bathed, get ready for the wedding, and get the kids in their outfits, in only five hours. When I got out of the shower, I dressed in jeans and a t-shirt. I got Chesney up and bathed. Alex could wait a little longer, but Avril, Sam, Chesney, and I had a hair appointment at nine-thirty.
Sam showed up at the house about five minutes after I had gotten Chesney dressed. "Are you guys ready to go?" She asked us.
Avril walked in and grabbed her purse. "Yeah, we're ready. Evan got here a few minutes ago with Steve and Cone. They're all in the other room watching the kids." I picked Chesney up and followed them out the door. We got Chesney in her car seat, and we all piled in the car.
On the way there Sam looked at me. "So how are you gonna get your hair done?"
I looked in the mirror. "I don't know, I just want it to look nice." Sam was going to be in the wedding too. She was going to walk the two year olds down the isle and then stand up front with the rest of us. I wanted both of my sisters to be with me. We each got our hair done fancy, Chesney and I both got our hair put up and had white flowers placed in it. Avril and Sam just had their hair done in curls. It took about two and a half hours to get all our hair done and get manicures.
"Chesney, you look beautiful." Sam said to her. I smiled, she did look gorgeous. When we finished we drove back to the house. When we walked into the house, the guys all whistled.
Deryck came over to Avril and kissed her. "You look beautiful honey. All of you do."
Alex came running. "Mommy, mommy, mommy! Come here, and see what I made for you!" I followed him into the dinning room, where I saw some paper left on the table. He walked over to it and picked it up, then he walked over to me and handed it to me.
"Alex it's beautiful." I said to him, it was in fact nothing but squiggly lines, but I didn't care. "Can you tell me what it is?"
He smiled, and nodded. Then he came over and pointed to the paper. "That's you and daddy, getting married, at the... alter?" He asked me looking for the right word.
"Yes honey, it's called an alter. What's that right there?"
He smiled more. "That's Auntie Avril and Auntie Sam. There's me and Chesney, and that's Daddy's two brothers."
I smiled, Chris's brothers were his best men. Chris, Chase, and Christian were identical triplets. We only had two and a half hours left. "Can one of you guys go and get Alex bathed? Don't put his tux on him yet, I don't want him to get it dirty." Cone took him upstairs and got him bathed. I blow dried his hair, he had shaggy hair cut that looked adorable on him. Then I let him and the other kids play. "Chesney make sure you don't mess up your hair, OK?"
She nodded. "I won't mommy." We walked over to the mansion together. As soon as we got there, my mom had us get dressed and ready.
"Mom, I don't want any of us to get dirty."
She shook her head. "You have to get ready, you can't put make-up on until you have your dress on. And an hour can go by fast. We want you to be ready before you're due at the alter, so you won't be late. Do you understand?"
I sighed. "Yes Mother I understand. My mom and Avril helped me get into my dress, then Avril did my make-up for me. Time flew, before I knew it we only had a half hour left. We got the kids dressed and ready, and Sam and Avril got into their dresses. I had chosen the colors pink and lavender for the wedding colors. Avril and Sam's dresses were a soft lavender, Chesney's was light pink. By the time we were all ready, I could hear the music playing. It's now or never. The others walked down the isle before me, then 'Here comes the bride" started playing and everyone looked my way. God I can't believe it's actually time! I was trying not to cry.
My dad was at my arm, walking me down the isle. "Are you ready for this honey?"
I looked up at him and smiled. "Yeah daddy, I am." He smiled at me, when we reached the alter, he kissed my cheek.We got about two minutes into the ceremony, when Alex walked across the white carpet on the isle, he tripped on it. He got up, and walked the other way, tripping again. The third time he tripped on it, he decided to stay down. I had a big smile on my face, he looked too damn cute with his chin in his hands, leaning up on his elbows. Christian walked over to him, picked him up, and fixed the carpet, he then walked over to my mother and sat Alex on her lap. "Here ya go."
The priest asked who was giving me up, and my father spoke up. "I'm giving her up."
We then got to the 'if there is any objections speek up now or forever hold your peace.' part. I didn't think anyone would, as a matter of fact, I knew no one would. The gate to the back yard opened up and Arianna walked in. "I object, sir!"
You have got to be fucking kidding me!
"Chris is mine! That little slut can't marry him!" She walked over to me, but before she got within two feet of me, Chase walked over to her.
"I'm sorry, I don't think you were invited to this, and I know none of us want you here." He picked her up and hoisted her up over his shoulder. Then he walked over to the gate, dropped her on the other side of it, and locked it. He walked back over to us. "Ok, we're good. Continue on." We exchanged vows, and rings. Then Chris was told to kiss me. He took the guy seriously. And kissed me for about a minute straight! "Tell me, why did your ex come and try to ruin our wedding?" He looked at me for a second.
"I have no idea, but I'm glad she didn't." Then he kissed me again. We walked down the isle again, and the guests all threw rice on us. We walked into the house, with the little ones and back out the front. Then we went to the car. We drove to the court house, and had Chris offically adopt the kids. I smiled at him.
"Now we're one big happy family!" He kissed me, then picked up Alex. I turned around and picked up Chesney. Chris looked me in the eye.
"How does it feel to finally be Hope Murray?" He asked me.
"It feels wonderful. But that was one complicated wedding!"
