Angela sat there, pondering. Pondering a thought that had been troubling her for the past few days.
In another room, her Three Dog Night record was skipping, and the pot on her stove was bubbling over....but she was so lost in thought, she either didn't notice, or didn't care. As she sat at her table, staring at her own reflection in a cracked mirror, she frowned to herself. Her plan was so close to being completed.
Seducing Avril, and gaining her trust had been far easier than she had ever expected. She had her, exactly where she wanted her.
Avril loved her.
But there was still one problem left.
Angela sighed, as she pushed a strand of hair away from her face.
After carefully studying her face in the mirror, she slammed both her hands down onto the table.
"He was supposed to give up by now," she yelled to her reflection.
"She doesn't love you anymore, Deryck," she continued, "She loves me. We're meant to be together."
Angela spun around in her seat, so her back was facing the mirror, and took a deep breath.
"Calm down Angela," she reassured herself, "You have nothing to worry about. We'll think of something....."
She spun back around in her chair.
"Yeah Angela, come on. We need to get rid of him," Angela said, immitating Avrils voice. "He's like, so annoying. I think we both know, it's
you that I want to be with."
"I know Avril, " Angela agreed, in her normal voice. "I want to be with you too.....You
and your baby."
Angela pondered this for a second.
"....On second thought, he can keep the baby."
"Like, totally," Angela giggled, still imitating Avril, twirling her hair around her finger. "But, like, we need a plan."
"A plan?," Angela asked, into the mirror, "What kind of a plan."
"Like, you know.....a plan to get rid of my husband. He won't give up without a fight. We both know that."
"Yeah, you're right," Angela agreed with herself, nodding all the while.
"You're right, " she repeated, in a whisper. "I need to trick him."
Angela stood up, and slowly strolled over to her bed.
As she sat down, an idea sprung into her brain.
".....I need her to catch him cheating on her......" she smiled to herself in the dark room.
"She needs to see him with me. I just need to time it right."
She looked across the room, at the cracked mirror, and smiled at herself.
"When she sees us, I'll just tell her that he came onto me.......I couldn't fight him off......."
Angela felt a pang of excitement rush through her.
"Don't be silly," she said to the voice in her head. "Of course she'll believe us over him. She loves me. She'll never want to stay with him after that."
As Angela stood up, and slowly walked towards the mirror, she abruptly stopped, and stared her reflection in the eyes.
"But how am I going to do it?," she asked no one in particular, cocking her head to the side.
"He'd never agree to meet me alone....." she said sadly.
"He hates me."
Angela's thoughts were suddenly interrupted by the beeping of her phone.
The sound echoed off the walls of the dirty apartment.
"Now who would be texting me at this time of..." Angela trailed off, as she picked up her phone, and saw that the message was from Deryck.
"Angela," Angela read out loud, "We need to talk. Meet me at my place. 10 o'clock. Deryck."
An eerie smile crept over Angelas face, as she gazed at her reflection.
"Like taking candy from a baby."
