yeah...i know it was sorta unlike avril to back down...i guess i just wanted to show her more sensitive/vulnerable side LOL.

next update (from her sisters POV)

March 24 2004--Michelle

I am hanging around backstage waiting for my sister when suddenly I see her walking quickly toward me.
"Hey Avril! Wasn't this fun?" I call out, but Avril doesn't answer me. I can see that she's crying. She never cries. What's going on?
"Are you okay?" I ask her. Avril breezes past me and walks into the ladies' room. I have to follow her. I have to find out what happened.
When I step inside the bathroom, I see Avril huddled in the corner. Her head is buried in her arms and her shoulders are shaking. She's really crying hard.
"What's wrong?" I ask. No answer.
"What is it?" I try again. Still no answer.
"Avril please say something! You're scaring me!"
"It was so bad," she says in a hoarse whisper.
"What was? And what happened to your voice?"
"I lost it when I was yelling at Betina."
"Wait, Betina? Isn't she that girl you were friends with in, like, grade school?"
"Yes."
"What did she say to you?"
"She snuck backstage and completely tore me down. She called me pathetic, Michelle."
"Oh Avril, that's horrible. She's horrible," I say. "You know that's not true right?"
"Yeah, I do. But with everything going on with 'Under My Skin' and how busy I've been...I--just--got--so--up--set--" Avril starts crying again.
I feel like the big sister as I hug her, but I don't mind.
"It's okay, Avril. You can cry," I say gently. "It's okay. Everything's gonna be okay."

I smile after Avril runs off, feeling satisfied with myself. I keep thinking of the look on her face. Ha! I can't wait to tell my friends.
"Excuse me?" says a voice somewhere behind me. "You, the blond girl in the red-and-pink striped sweater?"
"Yeah?" I ask, turning around. An arena security dude is standing in front of me.
"Are you allowed to be back here? Where's your pass?"
I don't have time for this. "I'm Avril's friend," I say, using that excuse that Kim made up.
"Yeah. Friend. I don't think so. I saw the end of your little display. We can't have people treat the performers that way."
Whoa. This guy really needs to stop the authority figure routine. He's taking himself way too seriously.
"Oh sure. The so-called 'performer' is such a phony," I snap.
The security guy glares at me. "All right missy, you're coming with me," he says, reaching for my arm.
"Back off!" I yell at him. Then I start running. I race into the arena, up the steps of a seating section, out the section's entrance...
The security guy grabs me. "Let go of me!" I shriek. He doesn't. Instead he leads me down a set of stairs and into the lobby.
"Wait. You're not gonna kick me out are you?" I ask.
"Oh yes I am," the security guy answers. "And don't ever let me see you here again!" he adds as he pushes me out the door.
"Like I'd want to come again and deal with you freaks!!" I yell.
I stomp over to my car and flip my phone open. I hit #1 on my speed dial and Alicia picks up.
"Tinaaa! How was it?"
"I cannot believe what those jerks did to me!" I explode.
"Hold up. What jerks?"
"Lemme get the others," I say. Then I hit #2 for Jenni and #3 for Kim.
"Security kicked me out," I tell them. "Apparently this guy heard what I said to Avril and he was all, 'You're coming with me!'"
"That's so stupid. Doesn't he have a sense of humor?" says Alicia.
"Guess not. You should have seen this dude. I can't believe it. I just can't believe it."
"You seem like you're embarrassed," Jenni puts in.
"Are you kidding? How ridiculous is that?" I answer.
"You sure?"
"I'm not embarrassed, Jennifer," I say.
"I HATE being called by my full name!" Jenni whines.
"Then will you drop it?" I ask. "Look, I gotta go."
"Bye! See ya soon!" says Kim.
I hang up, trying to shake off Jenni's comment as I begin driving.
Embarrassed? Yeah, right.
