Just so u know this fanfic is TOTALLY made up, lol. its about avril and her old best friend (who i also made up and is really mean) run into each other again. i thought it would be kind of a cool twist that she used to be friends with someone who's "popular". I am new to this site so I dont know--can u do made up fanfics or do they have to have real details?
ok I am blabbing.
oh! for those of you who dont like reading bad words, i dont swear.

ok here goes nothing...this is a flashback to when they were in 4th grade.

When Former Friends Attack

*Flashback--January 1994*

"Why would you do this? Why are you ditching me for those other girls?" I yelled at my best friend Betina. Or at least I thought she was my best friend.
"Because they're cool," Betina said.
"Cool? Who cares about cool?"
"God, Avril, drop the act already."
"What act?" I asked.
"Ooh, I'm so different! Ooh, I don't care what anybody thinks!" Betina said in a whiny, mocking voice.
"That's not an act."
"So? You're never gonna be popular."
"I don't care."
"Well that's your problem then. I can't hang out with you because you're a loser."
"I'm not a loser! How can you say that?" I yelled. "I thought you cared about me!"
"All good things must come to an end," Betina said, acting sugary-sweet.
"I used to think you were so nice, but you're such a jerk," I spat.
Betina's face turned red. "I am not a jerk! Don't you DARE call me a jerk!" she screeched.
"Well it's true!" I screeched back.
"Shut up Avril!"
"You shut up!"
"I hate you! You're so stupid! And guess what? You're not my friend anymore!"
"Fine! Goodbye!" I ran out of Betina's room, down the stairs, and all the way to my house. Angry tears streamed down my face.
"Avril, what's wrong?" asked my mom as I burst through the door.
"I don't want to talk about it!" I shouted before slamming the door to my room. I noticed the friendship bracelet on my wrist--red string with letter beads that spelled my name. Betina had the same one, with her name. We made them together last year.
I grabbed the bracelet and yanked on it. The string broke and beads scattered. I collapsed on my bedroom floor and cried.
Broken. That was what our friendship was.

here's an update! thanks for your positive comments OdangoGirl and omgpinkk! i am alternating between the points of view of both girls.

March 23 2004--Avril

I am so happy. My new album "Under My Skin" is almost done. I'm playing a special show tomorrow close to home, and my family is coming. Actually, I'm visiting them today and am in my old bedroom.
I open my desk drawer. There are notebooks filledwith songs inside. I open one which contains songs from when I was younger, like 13.
I flip through the book. Wow, I wrote some pretty good stuff when I was 13.
As I am reaching for another book, I see a flash of something red at the back of the drawer.
"What's that?" I say to myself. I pull out a red string bracelet with letter beads that spell my name. My friendship bracelet. Back when I was friends with Betina. Why did I save that all these years?
I wonder if she still has hers. I doubt it.


March 23 2004--Betina

"Don't miss 'Under My Skin,' the new album from Avril Lavigne! In stores this May!" Ugh. I jab the power button on the remote and the screen goes blank.
"I am so sick of her," I say to no one in particular. All I've heard lately is Avril Lavigne this and Avril Lavigne that. It is so annoying. I should have been the one who made it big. Not Avril. What does anybody see in her? She wasn't popular in school, she's this bratty, phony, full-of-herself "rebel girl", and she can't even sing that well! God, why can't everyone just SHUT UP about Avril for two seconds??
Wait just a minute. She's doing a show tomorrow. Near here. I have an idea.
I whip open my cell phone and dial my friend Alicia's number. When she picks up I call Kim, then Jenni.
"Girls," I say. "I know what we can do tomorrow night."
"What?" the other three ask.
"How would you like to go see Avril Lavigne?"

i don't actually know if avril did a show on this date or not...i just wanted to get her and betina 2gether in the same place, and this seemed like the best way to do it

March 24 2004--Avril

So tonight's my show. I'm really excited, but I also have a lot on my mind today. For some reason I can't stop thinking about Betina.
I remember how sweet she was when I first met her. We were seven, and she was the new kid in our class. She sat alone at lunch and cried every day. I didn't have a lot of friends either, so I sat with her one of those days. We became best friends almost instantly. We stayed that way until we were nine, when Betina started hanging with Kim, Alicia and Jenni.
The last time I saw her was the summer of 2002, at this "Welcome Back" party for me. (It was the first time I had come home after becoming famous.) If you hadn't seen Betina since elementary school, you wouldn't have recognized her. Her dark blond hair used to be short, but she's grown it out (because it's easier to flip it when it's long, I bet) and gotten highlights. Her cold brown eyes are always looking for someone to pick on. And her clothes. Do not eveb get ne started on the way she dresses. Betina's a big believer in the "If you've got it, flaunt it" philosophy. She wears microminis, super-low-rise-jeans, belly shirts and tops that show way too much cleavage. She probably thinks guys like that stuff, but all the guys I've known hate it when girls show a lot of skin. The "cool" guys seem to like it, though.
"Avril?" someone says. My 15-year-old sister Michelle is standing in the doorway.
"Oh, hey," I say to her.
"Whatcha thinking about?" Michelle asks.
"Nothing," I answer. "I can't wait for tonight."
"I know. It's gonna rock." All of a sudden Michelle hugs me. "You're the best sister ever."
"Thanks, Shelly. You too."

i've been off from school this week (spring break), but its almost over, so starting monday i might not be able to update as frequently.
