Avril-
Deryck smiled at me and told the driver to go to his place. I smiled thinking about how great this date was going. I would always remember it…always. I hoped that it would just continue this way. Suddenly, the car stopped and I knew we were at Deryck’s house already. Deryck opened the door and exited. Then, he reached for my hand and when I grabbed his hand, he helped me out of the car. He was such a gentleman…he made me melt.
We got into his house and I have to say, it was really clean for a boy’s house. Usually, boy’s had disgusting homes with items scattered all over the floor and porn magazines on the couches and beds. But not Deryck. Deryck’s house was clean (with nothing on the floor) and it smelled of air freshener. He was different…just like I had known he was.
“So, the T.V. is over there.” He pointed to the living room. “You can go over there and get comfy on the couch. I’ll be down in a bit.”
“Ok.” I felt so drunk. When I was drunk, I tended to get wild. I knew Deryck was the same way. But I knew that nothing bad could happen from it…not while I was with Deryck. Not on the first date. I sat down on the couch, and tried to look sexy. But then I stopped, figuring I would probably freak him out if I did that.
He came downstairs with three movies in his hands, all of which I liked.
“What do you want to watch?” he asked. I loved how he always put me before himself.
“Um, Lets watch…Titanic.” I thought it would set the mood for romance.
“Ok.” He set the movie up and then sat down right next to me. He put his arm around my neck and I noticed how his shyness had faded away from all of the drinking. I was kind of glad. Maybe now he would finally kiss me.
I constantly looked at him during the movie. He looked at me too. Suddenly, I felt him turn himself toward me, and away from the T.V. I turned myself towards him too, feeling like he was finally going to kiss me. We stared at each other for a little while. Then, he grabbed my hands (which were on my lap) and held them tightly within his. After awhile of staring at each other, I saw him coming toward me. I closed my eyes and approached him as well. Our lips were about to touch when my phone began to ring. We both opened our eyes and moved back to our original positions.
“I’m sorry about that.” I said. I picked up my phone and opened it to find that I had one missed call. It was from Evan. I hated Evan right now. Because of Evan, our moment had been ruined. I would never forgive him for that.
I put my phone away and looked back at Deryck. “Again, I’m so sorry about that.”
“It’s ok. So, the movie is done. Do you want me to drive you home?”
The movie was done? I hadn’t even noticed it. In fact, I wasn’t even watching it. The whole time I was looking at Deryck. I actually didn’t want him to take me home. I wanted to stay with me for a bit longer. But I couldn’t tell him that without him feeling like I was rushing things. “Yea, sure.” I got up from the couch and followed him to the front door. I was right behind him. He was about to open the door when he suddenly turned back around toward me. We were so close to each other. I wanted to stay that way. I could tell he wanted to as well. “Um, excuse me Avril…I forgot the keys.”
I walked backwards to give him some space as he went back to the couch and grabbed the keys. Then, we went to the car and before he went inside, he opened the door for me and made sure I was safe and comfortable. Then, we started to drive away.
“Um, Avril, so I was wondering, if you were free tomorrow.”
Excitement built up inside of me. “Yea, why?”
“Nothing, I was just thinking that if you weren’t busy, we could go to somewhere together again?”
“Like on another date?”
“Um, yea.”
“Ok, sure. What time?”
“How about a bit earlier than today? How about 4:30? That way we could spend more time together.”
I loved the fact that he wanted to spend more time with me. I wanted to spend more time with him too. “Sure.” I finally said.
“Great.” He smiled at me. The car stopped and when I looked out the window, I noticed that we were already at my house. The drive had been so smooth and fast. Too fast.
“Ok, so I guess I’ll see you tomorrow?”
“Yea, definetly.”
“Ok, bye.” I was taking off my seat belt ready to open the door for myself when I felt him hold my arm back. I looked at him confused.
“Wait.”
I was dumbfounded. Why did he tell me to wait? I watched as he opened his own door, got out of the car and walked over to my side of the car. He opened the door for me and reached for my hand to help me out. I smiled sweetly at him and grabbed his hands gladly as I stepped out of the car. He walked me over to my front door. We were holding hands! At my front door, I looked at him and he looked at me.
“Well, goodnight.” He said.
“Goodnight.” We continued to look at each other. We were still holding hands. I saw him come closer to me. I closed my eyes, expecting a goodbye kiss. We were close to kissing when he shifted his head and kissed my cheek instead. It wasn’t exactly what I wanted. But at least it was something. I smiled at him after the kiss and he smiled back.
“So ill see you tomorrow. Bye.”
“OK, bye.” I watched as he walked back to his car, got in and drove off. I felt my heart jump. I had never felt so happy before. Not for something as simple as a kiss on the cheek.

Avril-
I walked inside my house to find my sister standing right outside the door. She glanced at me with her hands on her hips, smiling awkwardly. I smiled back at her uneasily, wondering what she wanted.
“Sooo…” She looked at me waiting for a response.
“Sooo…” I didn’t know what to say. She continued to stare me down. “What?” I asked, wondering why she was staring at me.
“Sooo…why did you come home at 12 when your date was supposed to end at 9:30? Give me all the details! You looked so happy when you entered that door that I know something must have happened!!” She winked at me, and I immediately understood what she thought happened. I didn’t even notice the time. It felt like only 10 o’clock…nothing later.
I opened my mouth wide, surprised at my younger sister’s words. “MICHELLE!! You’re so nosey! Nothing happened.”
“Yeah, sure…and I was born yesterday.”
“No…I’m serious. We didn’t even kiss!” I crossed my arms at her and gave her a serious stare.
She knew (right then and there) that I was telling the truth. I only made that face when I wasn’t lying. “WHAT!! You didn’t even kiss!! What a rip-off of a date! I thought he would at least try something..i mean, you saw how the date started. He saw your fuckin’ underwear.”
“Michelle, it doesn’t matter if we didn’t do anything. We had fun enjoying each other in other ways. You know, there’s more than one way to have fun. You don’t have to have sex to have fun, you know.”
“Yeah, Av, I know. But, still, I would have been bored if I was you. But I guess…I mean…at least you could say he respects you and isn’t using you.” She looked at me disappointed. Then went upstairs to bed after saying goodnight. I was surprised by her reaction. But, I guess I would have thought the same way if I was in her position and she was in mine. But, I couldn’t help feeling happy…even if we didn’t do anything. I just liked being next to him. Although, I wouldn’t mind doing something with him…to be honest. But I guess taking it slow is good. I could wait. He could wait. It would make the moment more exciting when we finally chose to do it. That was my opinion anyway. I was about to go upstairs when I felt my phone vibrate. I picked it up and my heart fluttered at the sound of the voice on the other end.

Avril-
“Hello?” I stuttered into the phone.
“Hey, Avril.” It was the love of my life. A smile crept on my face just knowing that he called me.
“Hey. What’s up?”
“Oh, nothing. It’s just that you left your jacket on my sofa and I was wondering whether you wanted to pick it up or if you wanted me to give it to you tomorrow.”
I looked down at my t-shirt. I had forgotten my jacket! I hadn’t noticed. I guess I was too wrapped up looking at Deryck,
“Um…I’ll go get it now.” In reality, I just wanted to see Deryck again. Even if I had just seen him.
“Are you sure?”
“Oh, um, yeah. Ill be right there.”
“Ok. Bye.”
“Bye.”
I got the keys to my car and quickly drove over to Deryck’s. It was beginning to get chilly outside. I was beginning to get thankful that I was getting my jacket. I got at Deryck’s house in about 10-15 minutes. We lived somewhat close to each other. I quickly got out of my car and rang his doorbell. I wrapped my own arms around myself to stop from shivering. But still, my teeth chattered.
He opened the door almost immediately…almost as if he had been waiting for me. He saw how cold I was and quickly pulled me inside, closing the door. He pulled me into his arms and gently stroked my back to stop me from shaking. It felt so right to be in his arms. I was glad I had come back. I loved the touch of my skin against his. It felt like we had been like this forever. But I knew this was the first day it had ever been like this.
He looked down at me after awhile and smiled friendly at me. I smiled back, screaming inside of joy. “Poor thing, you must have been so cold out there. Do you want anything to drink…like a coffee or tea?”
I loved how sensitive and gentleman-like he was. It had always been my dream to be with a gentleman. But I always had trouble finding one. Until now that is. “Um, Sure, I’ll have a coffee. Thanks.”
“No problem. Go sit on the couch. Ill be out in a sec.” I smiled at him and walked over to the couch. I sat down and immediately found my jacket and put it on. I felt so much better now that I was a bit warmer and with Deryck. Deryck came out soon and handed me my coffee.
“Thanks.” I smiled and took a sip. Then another. Then, I put it down on the coffee table right next to the couch. We were looking at each other when suddenly, we heard a loud burst of lightning hit the sky. We both ran up to the window and saw that it was pouring outside. The rain was coming down so hard that it was almost hard to see anything. I looked at him and I felt his arm go around my neck. I kept a straight face, trying to not make a big deal out of it and smiled inside.
