Avril-
I stood there for a moment just thinking things through. I couldn’t believe this. My sister had just left to go with a man she hardly knew, just for the fun of the sex I would suppose. She completely disobeyed me and had sex on my bed! I was disgusted with the situation and with myself. It was partially my fault. Thanks to me she figured it was alright to have sex on the first date. I wasn’t very good at explaining things either. However, my sister would have done it even if I hadn’t slept with Deryck. Sleeping with Deryck just gave her another excuse to do it. But I might as well face it. My sister would have done it with or without me involved and so, I couldn’t help but to feel nothing more but anger towards my sister. I was sitting on the steps in front of my house when a car drove into my parking lot. I waited for awhile to see who it was. When the person exited out of the car, I realized it was Deryck. I couldn’t help but to feel happy that Deryck was here. Hr was probably the only one that could comfort me right now. But how would I explain what happened to him?
“Hey, babe.” He said smiling at me. When he looked at me carefully, he noticed that I looked sad. It seemed he could always tell how I was feeling. I could do the same with him. “Why are you sitting outside? And why do you look so sad?”
“Oh, Deryck.” It was all I could manage to say before bursting into tears. I ran up to him and he pulled me in for an embrace. He held me tightly and led me inside. He closed the door behind us. He led me to the couch in the living room and sat me down gently. He sat down right next to me, keeping his arm around my neck to comfort me. I leaned my head onto his neck and sniffled.
“Av, what’s wrong? You could tell me, I promise I’ll understand. Is it because of what we did earlier?”
I let out a huge cry as more tears rolled out of my eyes. “Its partly because of what we did earlier.”
He looked at me, obviously feeling my pain. He was beginning to look sad too. “Um, whats wrong with what we did earlier? Are you regretting it?”
“No, im not regretting it. It was great. But, it kind of led my sister to do something.”
“Oh my god. Where is your sister?”
He was so cute and comforting. I loved the way he held me with care. I wanted him (and only him) to hold me forever and never let go. I couldn’t keep it inside anymore. I decided to tell Deryck everything. He would understand everything, I was sure. I turned to face him. “Well, you know how my sister called in the middle of us earlier..”
“Yeah…”
“Yeah. Well she heard you in the background and figured out what we were doing. When I came home, I found her looking strange and when I went up to my bedroom…” I choked. It was so hard to continue.
“Av, what happened in your bedroom?”
“When I went up to my bedroom, I found a naked man in my bed. My sister said it was their first date and they did, you know. When I tried to tell her it was a bad idea to do that, she said that it wasn’t so bad when you and me did it. Then, she said she was sick of me and everyone else and she left with the man (Rick) on his motorcycle. I tried to stop her. She just wouldn’t listen.” I choked and burst into tears at that moment. He pulled me closer to him and put one hand around my shoulder, the other on my waist.
“Oh my god! Well, Av, you cant hold yourself responsible. She was going to do it regardless. How old was she anyway?”
“Only 15. I thought the same thing you did. That’s why I don’t blame myself. Im just so angry about what my sister did.”
“Yeah, I understand. I would be upset too. She started really young, didn’t she?”
“Yeah I know. I was trying to tell her that those kind of things are supposed to be special…not just something you do. I just couldn’t find the words to say it. And she hated me more and more every time I tried to tell her. “
“Av, I understand where you’re coming from. It is supposed to be special. But maybe that’s something she has to learn on her own. I mean, maybe she figured you were trying to tell her never to do it. She probably cant understand where you’re coming from because she’s so young.”
I looked at him and smiled small. I was beginning to feel better. It’s like he always knew what to say to make everything better. “Maybe you’re right. You think she’ll come back?”
“I can guarantee it.” He leaned in closer and went to kiss my forehead. Before he could kiss my forehead I lifted my head up so that our lips met. It started as a small kiss and turned into a passionate touch. Our tongues met…but only for a little while. When the kiss finally ended, I looked at him and smiled.
“Thanks.”
“For what?” He seemed confused. “For kissing you?”
“No, well, for that too but…not exactly what I was going to say. Thanks for listening to me and comforting me. Youre so sweet. I love you.”
“I love you too Av. That’s why I do these things. I cant stand to see you hurt.”
“Awww…”
I leaned in for another kiss. When we kissed I began to climb on top of him. He laid down under me. We were kissing for many minutes. Then, I began to unbutton my shirt. Deryck giggled quietly. He lifted the shirt off of me and threw it on the floor near the TV. I laid back down on her as he began to unlatch my bra and I began to nibble on his neck. Before he took off my bra, I stopped him, feeling eyes staring at me (besides Deryck’s of course.) I heard someone sniffling too and I knew it was neither of us. When I looked up, I was still on top of Deryck, he was still under me, my bra was halfway off, and Michelle was looking at us, crying.

Avril-
I climbed off of Deryck quickly, feeling myself blush from humiliation. I quickly latched my bra back into place and ran after my sister in my bra and jeans. I didn’t want to waist time putting my shirt on…besides…I was home anyway. Michelle had begun to run upstairs when I grabbed her arm and stopped her. I guess it was a good thing that I was stronger than her.
“Av, let go of me!”
“Wait, I just want to talk to you for a minute.”
“What for? So that you could tell me you were right?”
“Michelle…” I paused for a moment, rethinking what she had just said. “Wait…what do you mean I was right?”
“Nothing.” She turned back around and tried to release herself from my grasp.
“Wait. Please tell me. What happened?”
She sat herself down on the stairs and began to sob. I sat down next to her and comforted her. “What’s wrong?”
“Rick took me to his house after we left from here…and…and…” She began to sob harder, unable to talk.
“Ok, calm down…what happened once you got there?”
“Um, we did…um…you know..again… and afterwards I told him I loved him…and…and he laughed at me.”
“What? Did he say anything afterwards?”
“Yeah.” I waited for her to continue. I felt so bad for her. I wanted to tell her ‘I told you so’ but I just couldn’t. I didn’t feel like joking. Maybe later when everything was settled I would tell her. “He told me that the sex was great, but that was about it. He didn’t feel anything for me. He just used me.” She began to sob again. She put her head on her shoulder and I felt the tears run down my back and arm. Why did I have to be practically topless right now? I looked back down at the couch to Deryck. He smiled at me and I smiled back. Then, I focused myself back on my sister.
“Michelle, he was just a jerk…forget about him!”
“I cant. I thought he really cared for me. I thought we had something. I thought by doing that I would surely win him over.”
“Michelle, it’s alright. It’s one mistake. You’ll get over it. He was just an idiot. Not everyone’s like that.”
“Av, you don’t understand. Not everyone is as strong as you. Not everyone can so easily forget about something like that like you.”
“But you see Michelle…that’s why you shouldn’t do things like that on the first date….unless you’re certain that the person cares for you.”
“Av…you seriously should be one of the last to say that. You have to set an example for me and trust me…those words…you’re just saying them.”
“No I’m not. I mean it.”
She rolled her eyes at me, angrily. “You just don’t understand.” At that moment, she stood up, walked over to my bedroom and slammed the door. I heard her crying hard. I walked back over to Deryck, unsure of what else to do. He reached his arms out to me and wrapped them around me. I sat on his lap and looked deeply into his eyes.
“I don’t know what else to do, Der. I tried everything. I tried to stop her earlier and she ignored me. Now I tried to comfort her and still she ignores me. I don’t have any other ideas.”
After awhile of just looking at me he kissed me softly and whispered into my ear. “I’ll go talk to her.”
“Der, she doesn’t even know you…how would she talk to you and not me first?”
“Sweetie, just trust me. I know what to say.”
“Ok, if you say so.” I got off of him and watched as he walked upstairs to my bedroom.
