Avril-
Knock, Knock!
“Come in!” I shouted as I put on my eyeliner in my dressing room. Evan came into the room, yawning. You could tell he was tired.
“It’s 15 minutes before the show. Matt told me to remind you.”
“Oh, ok. I’ll be out in a little while.”
“Ok. I’ll wait near the stage entrance for you.”
“Ok. Oh, and remember, don’t fuck up!” I told him this before every show and each time, he found it funny. Evan smiled a bit at me and then quietly left the room.
I went back to putting on my makeup. I was almost done. I was putting on my eyeshadow, my last addition to my makeup, when I heard another knock on the door. I thought it was Evan, coming back to tell me he forget something. He always did that.
“Come in.” I hollered. The door slowly opened and when I saw who came in, my heart dropped. I felt my palms grow sweaty. It was Deryck. For a minute, we just stared at each other, not saying anything. It was becoming quite awkward.
“Hey, Avril.” He said this looking at the floor, almost shy. I never saw him shy before. He looked so cute.
“Hey.” I said. I also looked down and noticed that my legs began to shake. I tried to regain my composure but it was almost impossible.
“Um, Avril, I was wondering, if, um, you would like to, um, join me tomorrow for a night at Spider Club.”
I looked up shocked at what he just said. I thought I was dreaming. I had to make sure I wasn’t imagining things. “Excuse me?”
“Would you like to go out with me tomorrow?”
I felt my heart drop further into my body. I could feel my cheeks grow hotter by the minute. I hated myself for feeling this way. I couldn’t just stay normal. “Like on a date?” I felt so stupid but the words were just coming out of me like water. I couldn’t even think about them first.
“Um, yeah.”
“Oh, um, okay. What time will you pick me up?”
“I was thinking around 6:30. Is that alright with you?”
“Yeah, sure.”
Deryck smiled at me and came closer. I froze and just stared at me. I wanted to let out a scream; I felt like such a baby. But, whatever, I wanted him so bad I guess it was normal to feel that way.

Deryck-
I walked up to her. She turned her back to me, facing the mirror, continuing to put on her makeup. “Um, Avril?”
“Yeah.” She turned around again, facing me. She jumped. I guess she hadn’t noticed how close I had gotten to her. My body was pressed up against hers and her lips were about 5 cm away from mine. I stared at her lips, wanting to kiss her. I wanted to hold her. I wanted to touch her. I wanted a lot of things. But, it was too soon to do anything. She would probably get offended if I went too fast with her. So, to respect her, I didn’t do anything. She began to blush. She looked down at the floor and then quickly looked back at me. She stared at me for a very long time, almost in a trance. Then, I realized that she was waiting for me to tell her something. After all, I had called her over for a second time.
“Oh, um, so I guess ill see you tomorrow?”
“Yeah, sure. I’d love to see you tomorrow.”
“Great.” I looked at her and smiled gently. She was so beautiful. I just wanted to hold her close to me and kiss her passionately. At that moment, I turned away and walked out of the room.

Avril-
What was I thinking? How could I say that? “I’d love to see you tomorrow?” It sounded so weird. It sounded almost desperate. But, whatever, I looked forward to tomorrow. I couldn’t wait. For once in my life, my dreams were becoming reality.

Deryck-
I was walking down the hallway when Stevo stopped me. “I saw you come out of her room. Did you ask her?”
“Yeah.” I smiled and blushed.
“And…?” He was waiting for me to go into details but I didn’t feel comfortable just yet to tell him everything.
“And…she said yes.”
I didn’t wait to hear Stevo’s response. At that moment, I walked over to Cone and began a random conversation about our next album. Inside, I couldn’t wait for tomorrow. I braced myself, knowing that one mistake could mess up everything. I just wanted everything to go great. I hoped that it would.

Avril-
“Oh my god! Michelle, why didn’t you tell me it was 6:20 already? Deryck will be here any minute!”
“Like it matters! Your hair is done and right now, you’re doing your makeup. And you and I both know that makeup only takes you 5 minutes.”
I shrugged, knowing that my sister was right. But I couldn’t help getting nervous. I wanted tonight to be perfect. I finished my makeup in 5 minutes (as always) and turned around to face my sister. I was glad I had managed to get rid of my band for tonight (especially Evan). I didn’t want to put up with him tonight. I would deal with him later.
“Oh, um, Avril, you know you’re forgetting something right?”
I looked at her confused. “What?”
“Um, unless you’re going to meet Deryck in your underwear and give him the wrong idea of what you want to do tonight, I suggest you put on some pants.”
I blushed and looked down to realize she was right. I was in my underwear. How embarrassing! “Oh, um, yeah, I think you’re right. I’ll be right back.”
I was on my way upstairs to the bedroom when I heard the doorbell ring. “Oh my god- That’s Deryck!! Stall him! Don’t let him come upstairs!”
I ran upstairs as my sister went to answer the door.

Michelle-
“Hey there, are you Deryck?”
“Oh, um, yeah. Who are you? Is Avril ready?”
I didn’t know what to say. Telling him she’s not ready would probably send out the wrong message to him. It would seem as if she wasn’t excited for tonight and therefore, did not prepare for it in time. “Um, I’m Avril’s sister Michelle and yeah, she’s ready. She’s upstairs.”
“Oh, ok. I’ll go tell her I’m here.”
Deryck walked up the stairs in search for Avril. “No, don’t go in there yet! I tugged at his arm to hold him back. He turned around and looked at me confused. “I mean, you’re going to startle her. Do you really want to do that?”
“I won’t startle her I promise. Trust me, I know how to do these things. I’ve had a lot of practice.” He smirked at me, and turned back around. He walked up the stairs and stopped at the first room to the left of the stairs. The Bedroom. ‘He had to stop there first?’ I thought.
“Um, Deryck…” I tried to stop him but I was too late.

Deryck-
I opened the first door I saw, hoping to find Avril in there. “Avril, are you in here?” I walked into the room and immediately saw Avril…in her underwear!!! She was standing outside her closet, reaching for a pair of jeans on the top shelf. She turned around to face me, an embarrassed expression on her face.
“Hey, Deryck. What are you doing here so early?”
“I’m not early. Um, it’s 6:30.” I looked at her face but for some reason my eyes could not stay there. My eyes traveled down until I was looking at her pink underwear. She looked so cute just standing there in her underwear. So innocent. So pure. I actually found myself not wanting her to dress into her pants. I wanted her to stay the way she was. The fact that she was close to her bed did not help me control myself either.
“Um, Deryck, what are you looking at?”
I guess she had noticed me staring her down. “Oh, um… nothing.”
“OK…well I’ll be out in a bit.” She made signals with her hands telling me to leave.
“Ok, I’ll be waiting.” I smiled at her and left the room, closing the door quietly behind me. Michelle was outside the door, with a weird smirk on her face. “That must have been extremely awkward.” She stared at me waiting for a response.
“Well, it would have been perfect if it wasn’t the first date.” She looked at me, understanding the meaning of the words I had just said. She put her hand over her mouth as if afraid to laugh. I laughed and then she followed. Suddenly, Avril came out of the room in her black jeans. She saw us laughing and gave us a weird gaze.
“What are you two laughing about?”
“Oh, nothing. So, are you ready?” I looked at her with passionate eyes.
“Yeah, just give me a second with my sister. I’ll meet you outside.”
“OK.” I looked at her and smiled. She returned the smile with a cute grin and watched me leave.

Avril-
I looked at my sister with the best angry expression I could think of.
“Look, Avril, if this is about what just happened, I tried to stop him, honestly.”
I walked over to my sister and saw her flitch as I took each new step closer to her. I put my mouth next to her ear and whispered “Thanks.”
She gave me a naughty look. “Oh my god, I never would have imagined you were that type of girl. The kind that showed their underwear on the first date proudly.” She smiled at me, telling me it was all a joke.
“Shut up.” I playfully hit her and began walking down the stairs. “Bye.” I shouted out as I opened the front door.
“Make sure he doesn’t see more of your underwear tonight, OK?”
“Shut up.” I shouted at me, giggling.
“See you soon.” I heard her shout as I walked out of my house, towards the love of my life. It was weird. Usually, after what just happened, I would be embarrassed. But not tonight. Tonight, I felt happy about what happened. It all just felt so right. As if I was living in my dreams…in my imagination.
