hey guys

this is my first attempt at an Avril fanfic. i've been reading a lot of stories on here lately and they're all really good so i decided to give it a try. i do have some writing experience so this shouldn't be half bad

i decided to put a pleasant spin on things with the characters hehe i will definitely add more to this probably today because i'm getting so many ideas for it but what happens to me when i write is that i have a lot of ideas at once and then i'm all out of them so thats when you guys will chime in with suggestions

“I hate you!” I yell at Deryck. “You’re such an asshole. Why won’t you let me do what I want?”

“Because you’re wrong,” Deryck says flatly.

“Fuck you,” I say. “This is my record. We’re going to do it my way.”

“Avril,” he says, “you are so close-minded.”

“Shut up!” I snap. “We’re working in this studio together for one reason only and that is for you to produce my music. And goddamnit why is it so hot in here?” I scowl.

“Because it’s July and you’re in Los Angeles,” he snaps back at me. “And you know what?” he continues. “If you want to be like that, then fine. Produce your own fucking record,” he says and walks out.

“Asshole,” I mumble to his turned back and pull out my Blackberry. As I dial Evan’s number I concentrate on my breathing so that I don’t erm, accidentally, punch Deryck’s groins out.

“Hey baby,” I say relieved. “Do you want to come over to the studio to help me with a song?”

“Why?” he asks sleepily. “I thought Deryck was supposed to help you.”

“He was but then he decided that his head is up too far his ass to even consider my opinion,” I answer.

“Aw, man, Avril…” Evan complains. “You can’t mess up this deal with Deryck.”

“He’s an ass,” I say to him.

“Listen, I know he’s not your most favorite person in the world… actually, he’s probably your least favorite person in the world. But don’t think about that, just concentrate on your music. Even though you two hate each other you still manage to record great songs.”

“Aarggh,” I complain. “I’m about to buy my own studio and just do it myself!” I scowl.

“Absolutely not,” he says.

“And why not?” I challenge him.

“Because you can’t produce shit to save your life,” he answers matter-of-factly.

“Ass,” I say into the phone.

“You know I love it when you get feisty,” he coons on the other side of the receiver.

“Yeah,” I respond. “Don’t get too excited.”

“Do you really want me to go over there right now? Because I’m kind of in my boxers now and I haven’t showered for days, and they say that Hollywood is filled with paparazzi…”

“No, just forget it,” I answer. “I’m too pissed to work on this song now anyway. I’ll just call a cab home.”

“Ok, thank you,” he says, breathing into the phone relieved. “I’ll see you when you get home. Love you.”

“Love you too,” I respond and hang up. I turn to the motherboard of the studio and slam my finger on the delete button. This song is most definitely going to hell.

But there is something I didn't understand... is Avril married with Deryck?
Or is she with Evan?

avril is dating Evan and she hates Deryck (sorry avryck fans!)

As I walk down the hall of the studio I hear the distant sound of a little girl laughing. It sounds like Hayley, I think to myself. Sure enough seconds later Paris runs out chasing her and Deryck’s four year old daughter, Hayley. I pause for a moment and watch them with sparkling eyes.

“Hey Avril!” Paris says. “Wow, Deryck looks pretty upset. That must have been one tough argument back there, huh?”

“Kind of,” I respond and turn to Hayley. “I’ve missed you!” I exclaim to her and pick her up in my arms.

“Auntie Avril, where have you been?” she asks.

“I’ve been working, hunny,” I say and tickle her.

“Okay okay okay!” she says hiccupping. “Auntie Avril no more tickle," she squiggles out of my arms. The moment her feet touch the ground she runs off down the hall.

“So how have you been?” I ask Paris, my really good friend. “We really suck at this keeping in touch thing, you know” I mention to her.

“Tell me about it,” she says. “But I’ve been good. It’s been hectic with Hayley but she’s starting preschool next year, thank God,” she breathes a sigh of relief.

“Hey if you ever need a babysitter I’m yours.”

“I would love to hire you as a babysitter but, oh yeah, you kind of have this rockstar life already going on…”

“But I love kids!”

“I know. That’s why you should have some of your own.”

“No thanks, I’d rather adopt. There is no way in hell I’m walking around for nine months with a baby sucking out all of my food and energy.”

“Pregnancy is beautiful. I loved carrying Hayley around.”

“Whatever you say,” I smirk. “We should get together sometime when you have a night off.”

“I second that. I miss being irresponsible with you,” Paris responds.

“I miss you,” I say and smile at her. “Give me a call when you check your schedule at home. But please please please don’t bring Deryck along!” I say exasperatedly.

“Fine but that means you can’t bring Evan either,” she points out.

“Girls night out,” I say. “Just like old times.”

“Oh, please,” she says and rolls her eyes. “It’s still old times. You will never change. You’ll always be the crazy spontaneous chick who’s ready to blow someone’s brains out for getting in your way.”

“You know it,” I smile and think of Deryck. He really should get advice from his own wife. Maybe then I wouldn’t have to rip my hair out anytime I’m around him.

okay so in this story Avril is dating Evan and she can't stand Deryck. Deryck is married to Paris and they have a four year old daughter named Hayley. Avril and Paris are great friends

hmm... i don't really know what i'm going to do with the characters yet. when i started writing this story i only knew what characters i'm going to have and how they're going to be related... i don't really know exactly what's going to happen so i'm making it up as i go along hehe

and i think i'm going to update again soon

here it is again

“Hottie alert!” I shout as I open the door to the apartment Evan and I share in L.A. I drop my purse and keys on the foyer couch and follow the delicious smell.

“Holy wow,” I say dumbfounded as I stare at the kitchen table. There’s a thick crust pizza with olives, sausages and tomatoes on shiny silver platter in the middle of the table. A green bottle of champagne is standing right next to it, as are two thin champagne glasses. The entire perimeter of the table is lined with chocolate cupcakes and strawberry frosting, my most favorite dessert of all time.

“Oh my God,” I breathe out slowly.

“Avril,” Evan comes out from around the corner. He comes up to me and goes down on his knee. “Will you.... eat dinner with me?” he asks, his eyes shining.

“Never,” I say and sit on his knee. Evan grabs my side as he pushes his forehead against mine and stares me in the eyes. "Just kidding!” I giggle.

“Good,” he smiles and kisses me fully. “Now, how about some champagne?”

“Sure, but what are we celebrating?” I ask.

“Nothing really,” he responds. “I just want to spend a night with you. You’re going on tour soon.”

“There isn’t going to be any tour if I don’t get any songs finished in the studio,” I mention. “But holy crap this looks amazing,” I say as I look over the table again. “How long did it take you to do this?”

“Well… it took me about two minutes to order the pizza, then it took some twenty seconds to bring out the silver platter…” he says.

“So there really wasn’t any work put into this at all,” I say disappointed.

“No, not really,” he smiles at me innocently. “So, tell me about what happened in the studio,” he says as he stands up and pulls a chair out for me.

“We were working on this song called Contagious and Deryck just wouldn’t listen to me when I told him the chorus sounded better in D than G,” I begin to explain. “He’s always so bossy and controlling.”

“Are you sure you’re not the one who’s bossy?” Evan asks. I narrow my eyes at him. “Hey,” he puts his hands up in defense. “All I know is that Deryck is the best producer around right now. You’re really lucky to work with him”

“Evan sweetie,” I say to him, smiling like an angel. “Do you really want to sleep on the couch tonight?”

“You’re evil,” he says. I play with my hair and continue smiling innocently. “Actually,” he adds, “our couch is pretty comfortable.”

I raise my eyebrows at him as I grab a slice of pizza off the platter. “Couch for you it is then.”

“Uhuh…” he says, rolling his eyes. “I give you twenty minutes before you come crawling down the stairs with your blanket, asking to be held and kissed because you just had a nightmare.”

“Shut up!” I say as I pluck an olive off my pizza and throw it at him. “I will not!”

“Yeah, right,” he says. “We’ll see about that.”

I'm going to update again for anyone who's actually reading this story haha let me know your opinions!

At that moment the doorbell rings. I glance up at Evan in mid-bite, wondering who would be at our house now. Evan, sharing the same suspicious look, stands up and walks to the front door to open it.

“Deryck, my man!” Evan exclaims. I drop my slice of pizza and jump away from the table.

“Wuhh-darr-youuuu doeeng heeerrrr!?” I shout at Deryck with a mouth full of pizza.

“Well, gee, Avril. It’s nice to see you, too” Deryck says sarcastically. “Always flattering, always yourself,” he says as I wipe the side of my mouth with my sleeve.

“Get lost,” I mutter. Evan shoots me a glare. “I mean,” I look up at Deryck sweetly, “was there anything specific you wanted so late at night?”

“Yes, actually,” he responds. “I think you left this in the studio,” he hands me my journal full of songs for the new album.

“…Oh,” I say and take my notebook from him. “Thanks.”

“Yep,” he responds. I shift uncomfortably in the awkward silence.

“We were just eating pizza,” Evan says. “Do you want some?”

“No thanks, I’m not hungry,” Deryck says while slipping off his shoes. Oh, great. He’s staying for a while, I think to myself. I glance down at his feet and burst into laughter. Little candy canes and Christmas trees are decorating his socks.

“Deryck,” I say his name seriously. “… are you really so poor that you can’t buy normal socks?” I stifle a giggle.

“Avril!” Evan snaps.

“What?” I ask innocently.

“You know what,” he mutters. I roll my eyes at him. Guys can be so uptight sometimes, I think to myself.

“Actually,” Deryck intervenes, “Hayley picked these out for me for Christmas.”

“That’s understandable then,” I say, still holding back laughter.

“Is Paris coming with Hayley?” Evan asks, ignoring my comment.

“Yeah, they’re on their way here,” Deryck responds. I scowl as I take out my Blackberry, ready to yell at Paris for breaking the promise she made earlier that day. The guys leave to the kitchen as I sit on the couch waiting for Paris to pick up the phone.

“Hey Avril,” she says into the phone as she opens my front door. Hayley is standing next to her holding her hand and hugging a teddy bear. I look at my Blackberry confused at first and then hang up and walk over to them with a big smile.

“Hey little girl,” I pat Hayley’s head. “How’s Mr. Bear?” I ask, motioning to her teddy bear.

“Sick,” she responds disappointed. “Mommy give him advil, but he still sick…” she explains looking sadly at the bear.

“Aw, maybe Auntie Avril can do something for him?” I ask.

“Really?” she looks up at me excitedly with big eyes.

“Yeah, really!” I exclaim as I gently take the bear from her and give her a kiss on the forehead. I turn to Paris who is smiling at Hayley.

“You,” I say coldly to Paris. “You said you’re not going to bring Deryck along.”

“Yeaaah…” she responds, avoiding my glare. “Isn’t life funny sometimes…”

“Hilarious,” I say flatly. I glance at my watch. “Isn’t it past Hayley’s bedtime? It’s ten o’clock at night.”

“Yeah, actually I was wondering if I could put her down somewhere at your house.”

“Sure. She can sleep in our bedroom for now,” I wink at Hayley. She flashes me a sleepy grin. “I can take her up there now, if you want,” I say to Paris.

“Could you? That would be awesome,” she responds. “I’ve been meaning to catch up with Evan for the longest time.”

“Are you ready for a sleepover?” I ask Hayley as I take her hand.

“Yes,” Hayley responds, “but Auntie Avril! I don’t have my jamas!”

“…Oh,” I say, feeling stupid. I turn to Paris and she hands me Hayley’s pink pajamas. “There,” I proclaim. “Now we’re ready.” I nudge Paris towards the kitchen as I take Hayley in my arms. She wraps her small arms around my neck and settles as she puts her head on my shoulder.

“Goodnight, baby,” Paris kisses Hayley on the forehead.

“Night, mommy,” she mumbles. I walk up the stairs holding Hayley carefully in my arms. As I lay her down on my king sized bed she flutters her eyes open and grins at me.

“I luff you, Auntie Avril” she says softly.

“I love you too, baby,” I say as I tuck her in. “And here is Mr. Bear,” I place the bear under her floppy arm. “We’ll take him to the hospital tomorrow,” I whisper to her after seeing that she’s already sound asleep.

I quietly sit on the floor against the bed and take out the journal that Deryck returned to me. As I flip through the pages full of my handwriting my eyes focus in on something unfamiliar. Deryck’s scrawly handwriting fills the last line.

“I wish you met me before you met him,” it wrote.

I immediately throw the journal across the room as if it were diseased. What the hell is he thinking? I panic. He has a kid! He has a daughter with another woman who he’s married to! And I have a boyfriend of two years! I shut my eyes trying to pretend this isn’t really happening.

Hayley breathes deeply beside me. I sit up and watch Hayley, Deryck’s only daughter, sleeping. Her right arm is hugging her bear and her lips are in a smile. A blonde lock of hair falls over her closed eyes.

I really, really hate him.

“Hey you two,” Paris whispers as she slips quietly into the room. “Is she asleep?”

“Yeah,” I respond, out of touch.

“Are you ok?” she quizzes me with a curious look.

“Yeah, I’m fine,” I pick myself up and instantly smile.

“What’s that?” she asks, pointing to my journal.

“Just my journal,” I slam it shut. “Full of songs for the new record, you know.”

“Oooh, can I see?”

“Nope,” I respond quickly. Her face falls. “I mean, it’s a secret… you know… record company business.”

“Oh. Well then in that case… do you want to join the guys downstairs?” she asks, smiling at me unsuspectingly.

I do my best to return her smile whole-heartedly as I push the journal under the bed and stand up. “Just like old times,” I say.
