Hey all,
My computer recently picked up this nasty virus from Bandaids. In case anyone gets it themselves, here's some details and how to remove it:
It's calling itself
Vista Antispyware 2010. It pops up a convincing Vista virus scan window, then tells you to update your version of the software, where it ultimately is trying to get money out of you. It's also blocking my internet, saying 'the site you're trying to visit is unsafe'. Looks something like this:
It's all a fake!
You can find out more info about the virus here:

How to Remove
You need to get yourself a copy of this virus scanner:
Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php
- Other members have been successful with the virus scanner
Avast.
Make sure you have an up to date version. There is a tab called Updates where you can check.
Run a scan and it should pick up the virus, and remove it for you.
If the scanner doesn't find it and you still have a problem, follow these steps (this is tried and tested by myself):
Make sure you do this in the following order
1. Download this file (This file has been personally created by myself. This is will not affect your computer or bring you more viruses!! Having followed instructions how to create the file, it has proven successful and safe on my own computer):
http://rapidshare.com/files/346816354/exefix.reg.html
2. Save it to your desktop.
3. Download
Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware if you haven't already.
4. Update to the latest version.
5. Run a scan.
This should finally remove the virus! Reboot your computer, and hopefully it's gone.
If you have any questions, please PM me and I will do my best to help. Please don't share the file with other sites, this is exclusive to Bandaids.
Let us know if you had this virus so we can try and remove it from Bandaids:
