According to an Italian blog, the body double for Robert Pattinson in the Italian scenes of New Moon has been chosen, and it’s Alan Cappelli. In other news,
Number of extras has risen from 500 to 1500
Call for extras continues till May 24th/25th, and they are looking for both gals and guys.
New Moon star Jackson Rathbone, who plays Jasper Hale, has a new video for his band 100 Monkeys. In it he wears a dress and banana outfit, among other costumes.
Regent and CineTel titles at this year’s Cannes Marche du Film include “Little Ashes,” a
historical drama about the college years of Salvador Dalí and Federico García Lorca, starring
Robert Pattinson (”Twilight”) and Javier Beltrán…
Getting back into the swing of life in Los Angeles, Ashley Greene looked radiant in red as
she stepped out to Bardot on Friday night (May 15).
The “Twilight” cutie kindly posed for paparazzi upon arriving to the trendy nightspot, then
heading inside for an evening of fun with a few gal pals.
Miss Greene happens to be just returned home from Vancouver, where she was busy
filming the “Twilight” sequel “New Moon”.
Talking about her take on the franchise’s success, Ashley tells: “It’s incredible. For someone
to be that passionate about something and to be passionate about your character, it’s amazing.”
Also mentioning that there are those who feel she’s too tall to be playing Alice Cullen in the
“Twilight” series, Greene says: “Oh yes. But you know what? That, out of everything - I’ve
heard some things and seen some things - and out of everything I think I’m very fortunate as
far as that being the complaint. I was like, ‘Listen guys, there are no other girls who are five
foot who portrays Alice. It’s a fictional character.’ Which I’m sure they wish there was some
5’2” girl or whatnot. But if that’s the biggest complaint, I’m okay. And then of course the hair
thing, but they wigged me into that. That was good and that worked out.”
Enjoy the pictures of Ashley Greene out at Bardot (May 15).
* Location Found for Volturi Tourist Feeding Scene in Montepulciano?
We’ve heard from a couple of different people that the location in the pictures, an
underground location in the city of Montepulciano, will be used in New Moon for the scene
in which tourists are led to a trap where they are fed upon by the Volturi. What do you
think–is this what you imagined from the book?
TwilightersAnonymous.com: You’ve been in countless roles and have been involved with TV,
animation, stage, and movies – how do you go about choosing your roles? Is there any role
you’ve done that stands out in your mind as being your favorite, or one of your favorites?
Gil Birmingham: The first thing that draws me to a role is a well-written and compelling script.
I look for characters with complexity, who have something to say and who will challenge me
as an actor. Each role that I’ve done has challenged me in different ways. One of my favorite
performances was that of Dogstar in Stephen Spielberg’s six-part miniseries, Into the West.
Through the eyes of Dogstar, viewers were able to witness the atrocities and devastation of
Wounded Knee and its affect on Native Americans. It was a challenge to “age” with the
character as he went from a young warrior to a tribal elder.
TA.com: How did you first hear about the movie Twilight, and can you tell us a little bit about
your audition process for the role of Billy Black?
GB: My agent brought me the script. At that time, I knew little about the Twilight books, but
I knew that the character had a unique story, and that the vampire/werewolf romance genre
had a great appeal. I felt very connected with the character, which apparently showed
during the audition process.
TA.com: Has the Twilight hype affected you in anyway? After having gone through one
Twilight film already, do you feel you are better prepared for the hype the second time around?
GB: The whole Twilight experience has been truly amazing. I am constantly in awe of the
love and support that Twilight fans all over the world continue to give me. The downside is
that I have less time now to communicate directly with my fans, but I hope they know that I
feel truly blessed to be a part of this thing called Twilight. I’m at the point in my life where I
can appreciate all the adoration from fans, but not get swept up in all the hype. I’m still the
same Gil Birmingham I was before Twilight.
TA.com: It’s well known in the Twilight world that Billy Black is in a wheel chair due to a
medical condition – do you feel that this has affected your performance in any way? Do you
find it harder to play a role where you are confined to a wheelchair?
GB: I was concerned at first that working in a wheelchair and making the movements look
natural would be a challenge. Once I got into character and into the wheelchair, it all just
seemed to come naturally.
TA.com: How do you get into character to carry out your role as Billy? Do you find that you
relate to the character of Billy in any way?
GB: I spent time studying the book and the character to understand the inner motivation of
Billy and tried to get into his thought process and how he would look and react in various
situations. Billy is the leader of the tribe, but is not a werewolf. Because of this, he brings a
different perspective to the story, and it adds complexity to his character. I found that there
was a lot of Billy in me, which projected in the film.
TA.com: Can you tell us what it was like filming New Moon?
GB: New Moon was a tremendous experience for me. It was great to be back working with
Rob, Kristen, Taylor and the rest of the cast. With the addition of the werewolf clan cast
members, the energy on the set was at a whole new level. Filming New Moon, like Twilight,
wasn’t easy. We spent long hours on location, in cold damp weather, sometimes well into the
morning. What impressed me the most was the many dedicated fans who camped out in the
cold all night while we were on location. They were really amazing!
TA.com: Have you seen any previews of any of the CGI work being used for the film, or any
sneak peeks at the transformation the wolves will go through on film? What are you most
looking forward to seeing come to life on-screen?
GB: I have not yet seen any of the special effects that will be used in the film, but I
understand that they will be awesome. I’m anxious to see the transformation of the wolves
on the big screen. I’m limited as to what I can say about the film at this point, but I know
the fans will love the action and effects in this film.
TA.com: On a final note, can you tell us about your upcoming TV and film appearances, and
any other future projects you have in the works?
GB: I’m waiting for the release of Love Ranch, a film with Helen Mirren and Joe Pesci, about
the couple who started the first brothel in Nevada. I also just finished a role in a film that I
can’t announce yet, but hope to be able to release that information soon. Soon, I’ll heading
off to Perth, Australia for the Supanova Pop Culture Expo, and will be in London, England, in
October for a Twilight convention. There are a few other projects and appearances that I
hope to be able to announce in the next few months. And, with the little spare time I have
these days, I’m working on my music. I’m hoping to find enough time to put something
together to release on my MySpace and my web site.
* Win a trip to the set of The Twilight Saga: New Moon in Italy
Not only is E1 Entertainment offering one lucky viewer the chance to visit the set of The
Twilight Saga: New Moon in Italy between the 26th and 29th May, but also the chance to
appear in the background as a non-speaking 'walk-on' part during the day (subject to terms
and conditions).
“Oh my God, I have the fingers of it which tremble and the heart which still pounds: we have
just learnt on good authority that Robert Pattinson - THE Robert Pattinson who makes turn
the heads of all the planet since he showed his fangs in Twilight - Chapter 1 : Fascination - will
be in Cannes Tuesday, May 19th!!! With a detour in “Le Grand Journal” on the TV Channel
Canal + and a passage obliged on The Stairs !
We already plan riots, tidal wave and truck of handkerchiefs because that is going to be the
storm - which I say, the tsunami Pattinson which is going to make move Croisette next week.
You are not spot? Do not panic, you rent a car, jump into a train or into a plane, and we
reserve you a small place to cross the road of the most beautiful vampire of the whole Earth.
Of what to make us almost forget that Brad Pitt will go up these same stairs the next day…”
* Robert Pattinson: Finished with Canada, Eyes Italy
Back home for a break before resuming filming, Robert Pattinson had quite the
action-packed stay while residing up in Vancouver for “New Moon”.
Aside from hopping back into his beloved role of Edward Cullen, the hunky “Twilight” stud
enjoyed both a cast wrap party and a 23rd birthday celebration during the course of his
time in Canada.
As for his birthday party, Rob was joined by family and co-stars, with fans quickly taking
notice as they ran up to try and meet the “New Moon” stud.
One lucky fan gushed, “I was so happy to see Rob and help him celebrate his 23rd birthday.
He took the time to meet us and take a picture with us, that was so cool.”
Finally finished up in Vancouver, Pattinson has since jetted back to LA, but will soon be
shooting scenes in Italy - as everyone involved try to wrap things up in time for the
much-anticipated November 20th release of “New Moon”.
Enjoy the just-released pictures of Robert Pattinson during his stay in Vancouver!
The race is on in Hollywood to play Ol' Blue Eyes.
Oscar winner Martin Scorsese will be directing and producing a biopic about legendary singer
Frank Sinatra, who died in 1998 at age 82. The hot-tempered Sinatra led a famously colorful
life: He wed four times (including to movie stars Ava Gardner and Mia Farrow), had early ties
to organized crime, and starred in 50-plus movies, including the original Rat Pack extravaganza,
Ocean’s Eleven, as well as From Here to Eternity, for which he won an Oscar for Best
Supporting Actor.
The role of Sinatra has yet to be cast, but the early favorite is Leonardo DiCaprio, who has
made three films with Scorsese, including Shutter Island, which opens this fall. Another
possible contender: Johnny Depp. Respected film industry blogger Nikki Finke reports he's the
choice of the sponsoring studio, Universal. Neither actor is known for his warbling abilities, but
that doesn’t matter because the film, which has the cooperation of the Sinatra estate, will
use the crooner’s original recordings.
Other possible contenders? Justin Timberlake, who actually can sing and has the right hungry
look. Tween heartthrob Joe Jonas has the pipes and the right look. Or maybe even Twilight’s
Robert Pattinson, if he loses the fangs and nails a New Jersey accent. Pick your favorite to
portray the crooner below:
Rachelle Lefevre stars with Jeremy London in the Lifetime Movie Do You Know Me? It is
scheduled to premiere this Sunday May 17th.
"A young woman is shocked to see herself on a milk carton as a “missing person” and decides to investigate. She soon finds herself on the run from both sides of the law."
* The changing face of Forks because of "Twilight"
Forks was settled in the early 1900s because of its proximity to the Sol Duc, Quillayute,
Bogachiel and Calawah Rivers.
It was incorporated in 1945 and, at that time, farming was the primary means of earning
a living.
For years it was famous as a “timber town.”
But it took a family of unrelated vampires to put Forks’ name firmly into the public eye
and draw visitors by the thousands to this temperate rain forest.
Twilight — a dream by a young woman, Stephenie Meyer, which became a best-selling
four-book series (and then a movie, with a sequel being filmed and plans for future
films) — has changed the face of Forks and thrown open the doors to international visitors.
As anyone on the North Olympic Peninsula will attest, swarms of excited, eager Twilight
fans of all ages come to Forks to experience something magical.
Forks is working hard to retain that mystical aura.
While Twilight opened the floodgates to a fan base ranging from preteen to “oughta know
better,” both male and female, the challenge has become keeping the interest high on the
West End — and, from all accounts, Forks is rising to the challenge.
Visitors can pick up a colorful map of the action sites in the book and go off on a self-guided
tour, hoping to catch sight of the occasional vampire (on a cloudy day) or a werewolf
(non-seasonal).
Their fantasy is fed by the Chamber of Commerce-run Visitor Information Center, where mail
for the vampire Cullen family is being saved and where props for exciting photos are treasured
and shared.
Directions to other activities and information on Olympic National Park, the former big draw,
are offered as well.
Residents are showing a tolerant, slightly amused face to visitors and often recognize the
plight of their photo-happy visitors and offer to snap a picture of a group of tourists.
Their indulgence is being paid off with return visits and acknowledgement that this part of
the county is both beautiful and quite unique.
Many visitors have sworn they will return to savor the incredible beauty and friendliness of
the Pacific Northwest — and some have already relocated their families to be nearer here.
Keeping the experience exciting may not always be possible, but in these first years of the
Twilight saga, everyone seems anxious to hold onto the dream as long as possible.
New stores have opened in Forks, new products have been created to fill the seemingly
endless demand for booty — and jobs are being offered when it was feared summer work
was a thing of the past.
Our gratitude is extended to Stephenie Meyer, who recognized a romance-hungry market
which has eagerly devoured her fiction and asked for seconds.
While she hints at the supernatural and teases the reader with her story of endless love,
the value of her writings is in the relationships she describes and the settings in which
they take place.
Forks is grateful to be the cloudy, mysterious and soggy site for Bella, Edward and Jacob
to establish their bonds and immortalize Clallam County.
With four books in the series, it’s hoped more movies will result and the flow of fans
will continue.
