Going The Distance isn't a National Lampoon movie. They just slapped that title on to make the movie look more appealing in the United States. Everywhere else it's simply called 'Going The Distance'.
The reason why you thought it wasn't that good was because it was a Canadian movie, and it was all Canadian actors, and produced by CHUM. (Much Music/City TV, etc.) It had Canadian humour as well.

And it was shot throughout Canada. The MMVA's re-creation was filmed in Victoria, BC.
I was happy that George Stroumboulopoulos had a part in it! Haha.
