High School Musical
I watched this because the hype tempted me. Have to be honest, as fluffy and cheesy as it was, I thought it was really enjoyable and great fun, especially for a Disney Channel movie! Some of the songs were really catchy, loved 'Start of Something New' and 'Breaking Free' and I loved the girl who played Sharpay, what a character

Oh my God i hate it with a passion. One of them is becoming a singer because, well, because. It is a disgrace to the music industry. Seriously kid - go work at McDonalds. Oh and Zack Efron = WAAAY overrated! I mean, he's not hot, he's not cool, he's just an annoying, overrated bitch. The whole cast doesnt deserve the success. The only reason it's so big is because the 9-year-olds wouldnt shut the fuck up. Uuuuuggggghhhhh...

I have to say I can only half agree with you^^^.

I think that it is somewhat over-rated, and didn't necessarily need to explode (the soundtrack was the best selling cd of 2006) seeing as to me, it is nothing unique, however I guess kids need something squeaky clean to listen to and be inspired by.

I also think it sets off a kind of false high school image. all these kids are thinking when they get into highschool life will be a musical. high school is not a musical. my high school is definitely overflowing with sex drugs and rock n roll, not in anyway disney!

I kinda like it. but I 'll start to hate it if it's everywhere. I mean here in Argentina every kid is obssesed with the movie.. You see it on tv, hear on the radio, see ads on the street, see the cd everywhere.. It's crazy

HSM is not a "musical". It's just a cheesy made-for-Tv movie with a bunch of crappy pop songs thrown in. It was mildly entertaining when I first saw it, but now that everyone has flipped for it I have grown to hate it.

Oh, and Zac Efron looks like a creepy guy from my grade nine class who used to smell my hair.
