So, I just got home from seeing The Messengers.
I feel there is a very strong lesson to be learned from that movie.
That lesson is, "don't go see The Messengers."
Although, basically if you've seen The Grudge, The Shining and The Birds, you've seen The Messengers.
It's basically very predictable and the big 'reveal' towards the end (which... a flock of crows is involved in for some inexplicable reason) is entirely predictable from the very first scene of the movie.
Also the family's backstory is inconsistent and has all kinds of build-up with very little payoff.
All the 'scary' parts are just unusual camera angles, quick cuts and suspenseful music. It's like a final project in Horror Movies 101.
And that's about all I have to say on this cinematic masterpiece.
Although the Smoking Man from the X-Files was totally in a couple scenes.
