WOOHOO I HAVE FINALLY SEEN THE CLOVERFIELD MONSTER!
And man, is it one destructive son of a a bitch! lol
First of all, there are no spoilers here, just my take on the flick:
Whoa, one word to describe Cloverfield?
Intense. Yep, thats definitely the word. It's one hell of a ride though. I absolutely ate it up. Had some absolutely amazing scenes of destruction that it looks way more than it's budget of 30 million. Also, had brilliant character development for a movie of this kind. The movie
wasn't about the monster (even though it is hard not to marvel at it), it was about 5 friends in a bid for survival and a love story between Rob and Beth. Hud was the best character, and I really liked Marlena.
Anyways guys, you'll have to see for yourselves. It was truly satisfying, if not a little short. I watched the trailer so many times I felt like I'd actually seen the movie but its an experience nonetheless and such an original concept. The idea they use to give a backstory is pretty brilliant. The hand-held camera format might be a bit hard for some people to take, there are a few scenes in panic that will make you a tad dizzy but it actually adds to intensity. You actually
feel like you're there and that you're experiencing it. There's a scene on the Brooklyn Bridge and in a helicopter, where it feels like a ride
you are on. It doesn't feel like a movie, it feels real. Nothing ever seems scripted. It's awesome. Just go see it.
When Cloverfield finished I felt sad (you'll see why) and a little unfufilled (too short). But it still left me wanting more. I want to see it again and I probably will. Definitely something to watch at the cinema. Anyways, hope you guys love it as much as I did! I'll stop rambling now
