Are German people (under sixty) constantly apologizing to the Jews due to the WWII holocaust? No. Do Turkish people (under the age of 80) apologize to Armenians for the WWI killing of them? No. Do Catholics apologize to athiests for the inquisition? No.
Those were GOVERNMENT SANCTIONED GENOCIDES and no apology is required. The acts were acts as a result of misinformation and public hysteria, and any current, and reasonable, person realizes that. The associations responsible for such atrocious acts are not permanently responsible, nor should they be. Only the people involved. Not all Germans were tried at Nürnberg, just as not all white Americans should be held in contempt for things done in the fifties, or even the eighteen fifties.
The persecution of African Americans in the United States has never been that bad, and I know I made a GIANT leap, but sometimes great exaggeration is needed to get a point across. We realize now that it was nonetheless stupid. An apology is fine, but only from the people who DID harass black Americans. An apology from someone who knows not what went on then, much less took part in what happened, is worthless.
EDIT: I completely forgot to actually respond to the topic of the movie.
What's it about?
