Ok so true story.
About a week after Heath Leger died, I was in Zellers and I saw a tabloid with him on the cover (naturally the ONLY time the guy was ever in the tabloids, really). All of a sudden THAT SONG comes on. It was so weird. I had to leave the store. He was my favourite actor.
I am basically in love with that movie. I was 14 when it came out, so it was basically my introductory teen movie, and I still adore it. I own it on VHS and got it on DVD too, and I watch it if it's ever on TV. It's easily THE BEST teen movie since the classic John Hughes/Brat Pack films of the 80s, and no teen movie has even come CLOSE to that one since. In fact I think teen movies in general have taken a drastic turn for the worse in the last few years.
I kinda wanna go watch it now. I may have a problem.
I can recite far more of that movie than I care to admit ("Some asshole paid me to take out a really great girl." "Is that so?" "Yeah, but I screwed up. I fell for her." Awwwwwwwwww. Annnnnnndd "You can't just buy me a guitar every time you screw up, you know." "Yeah, I know. But there's always bass and drums, and maybe one day even a tambourine."), and I sometimes wonder what IMPORTANT knowledge I've pushed out to make room for random dialogue.
