They posted this on the official forums (which by the way are filled with people who for the love of me cannot type, and it hurts me in a part of my brain I didn't know existed).
Here's what I said there:
Well, that picture was probably made for a couple reasons:
1. Most young artists get pulled into deals without reading the fine print, and getting snared into stuff that you don't want to do. The bottom line is that when you're signed with a big record label, they pretty much have lots of say as to what you can and can't do. Being friends with lots of people in the industry, I can tell you of all sorts of horror stories like this.
2. People do caricatures of things that people can identify with, and public figures are a general target of ridicule. If you don't mock something that everyone knows about, it comes across as weird, or one of those snobbish "holier-then-thou" intelligent jokes.
