Ok I was searching the internet for Lillix Interviews and most of them talk about the comparisons they get with Avril.
It's weird how they say the only pop song on their record is "It's about time" and they said that their label chose it to be the first single. With Avril, remember arista wanted complicated to be the first single and when avril talked about it on trl she said it was one of the more pop songs.
Even on their main website under press, all the magazine/article clippings are mentioning avril...(ex: If you listen to Avril, then you'll like Lillix) type of deal. oh btw, they were signed to Maverick in May 2001. (interesting..)b/c people think they are directly following avril's footsteps. (don't people know it takes time to record and entire album)
OK I know this is supposed to go in the articles section but I wanted to combine this with he radio interview where they mention avril and I wanted to see what you guys thought about it.
First this is an excerpt from an interview a website did with Lacey-Lee of Lillix
Full interview:

Lillix Fans Online: You must get the Avril Lavigne comparisons alot, How do you deal with them all?
Lacey-Lee: Yes we do. Its understandable, we worked with the Matrix on 2 tracks on our album, one of which is the single. The Matrix definitly have their own style, which is very distinguishable. We both consist of females rocking, that happen to be from canada...so, we do have a lot in common. But, there are MANY differences aswell.
Okay the next interview is with a radio station, where Lacey talks about how madonna told them to stay in school, how Much Music was going to follow them to their prom and how their album is more rock influenced, and of course the comparisons with avril.

EXCERPT FROM READIO INTERVIEW:
Radio DJ: And also tell me how you feel about the comparison to avril lavigne, cause you've obviously heard that?
Lacey: Oh we hear it all the time, and it's kind of understandable we worked with the Matrix, we wrote with them, the songs, so it's kind of their syle of writing, you know it's probably the most pop song on the album, the safe song, we like to call it. The rest of the album is alot edgier, more rock-influenced, but you know you just gotta do what you gotta do. The label like this song, and they thought it would be the best first single. I'm fine with the comparisons cause Avril's a great entertainer, she's a rock girl. You know it's cool.
