there's a virus i heard about on the radio called the admin virus or something and you get it when you open an e-mail that goes around claiming to be from an admin of some site... it sounds kind of similar but i dont know much about viruses so it might be different

No, this is from us using Kazaa. I'm still trying to find a way to fix it. I deleted kazaa and and files that might have something to do with kazaa. I'm installing an anti-virus program right now.

Read this McAfee , look at the "indications of infection" section, this may be this virus.

Unfortunately no, you won't be out of danger because when a new virus is created, he always strike first, and the anti-virus update come after ( when some computers had already been infected ). There is no perfect protection against virus.

Uninstalling kazaa won't remove the virus, but you can try to remove the virus with an antivirus before reinstalling windows. Try this : McAfee and check the indications to see if that match with your problem. But maybe that's not that virus, or maybe that's not a virus after all...

I ran an anti-virus program, uninstalled kazaa, and it still does it. A friend of mine said it did the same thing to his computer but then he uninstalled kazaa, and the next day his computer was fine. So who knows what will happen.

This must've come through this site.
I almost exclusively only visit message boards when online.
Possibly through some of those 'Real Punk' fans who were bombing the board over the weekend.
This is a virus.
You can see a program called 'msblast' running in the background if you open TaskManager.
After installing the Patch make sure you get the latest AV updates and run a complete system scan.

I don't think those punk have something to do with this, the msblast virus spread by itself since few days, by choosing random ip adress

I think i got rid of it but i dunno
Download the patch
Restart windows (DONT connect to the net)
press CTRL+ALT+DELETE, go to processes and end proccess for msblast.exe
Install the patch
If you have a virus scanner do a full system scan
and then connect to the net and see what happens
that should do it... hopefully, but i still dunno if it worked for me
