I have a request, a comment, and a question.
Question first. If you're name is Adam and you're the first person to see this thread, don't answer.
Is Africa a continent or a country?
Request next: go here: EFF: Contacting Congress (& Other US Policymakers) Factsheet
There is a war, a very bad war. And we only need to send one senior policy adviser there to end it. One. Just one. But our country is made up of (mostly) greedy, selfish leader, and they won't do it. Not on their own, anyways. We can stop that. There is horrendous and tragic war in a place called Uganda. We NEED to send that senior policy advisor (don't bother asking me what that is, because idk) to end it. People can't eat. People can't sleep. People are dying. Most of them have never even seen a computer. Find your state, and request that this be ended. Be sure to state your name, age, and where you're from. Lie if you're not from the US. Go to Invisible Children - Invisible Children to find out more.
Request. Please. We can end this. We can. Things still won't be good, but they'll be a hell of a lot better. It's a terrible tragedy, but if enough people make themselves heard, we can end it. We WILL end it.
Don't be a selfish bastard.

Yayyy finally I can post. Thanks for posting this, Amy.
I hope everybody takes the time to visit that website. It's so important. The government doesn't always listen, that's a fact. But maybe they will. Heck, maybe there's only a 1% chance that we can solve this. Well condoms are faulty 1% of the time, and accidents always happen with condoms. So why can't it happen with Uganda?
Perhaps once Uganda's problems are solved, we'll be able to move on to help Sudan.
Do it, people. Do it!

There are a LOT of devastating wars. You can't put one up against the other, because the damage is all the same. So, please, I'm asking you nicely to stop. Don't turn this into some sort of debate. I'm not saying that one is worse than the other, because the damage is equally as bad. However, right now we have a chance to stop THIS war. THIS specific war. There is no real war. I shouldn't be typing this. The way I see it, if we can stop this, we can stop other wars. We can't fix everything at once, but we can focus on one thing at the time. That will lead to other things. It will prove that we can do it. So, please, send that email. Please. You can help fix it.

There are a ton of issues going on in the world ranging from war to gay rights. The world is extremely fucked up and it's easy to get overwhelmed by everything that seems to be going wrong. However, it's important to not put certain issues on a pedastal saying that they're "better" because that's simply not the case. Each person needs to focus on one of two issues that they're particularly passionate about and crusade for them. That's why better than not having a focus and just feeling sad when a tragedy occurs. Be proactive about things you care about - it can make a huge difference.
Anyway, thanks for posting, Amy
