Um... it's basicallly about this guy named Jesus of Suburbia who is pissed off with politics (American Idiot/Jesus Of Suburbia), and he runs away from home (Holiday/Blvd.) then meets some new druggy people (Are We The Waiting) then St Jimmy becomes sort of his hard drug-doing alter ego (St. Jimmy/Give Me Novacaine), then he meets a girl called Whatsername and they start going out (She's A Rebel/Extraordinary Girl) then Whatsername leaves him (Letterbomb) and he decides to ditch his alter ego -- St Jimmy (Homecoming). Then months later, he thinks about his lost love (Whatsername).
