Bush Sr. jokes about Britney's 'underwear' in sitdown with actor Clooney
In a joint appearance on this morning's Good Morning America, former President George Bush joked to actor George Clooney about Britney Spears' underwear problems. Bush Sr. also said that he was "embarrassed" about crying during a speech about his son, Florida Governor Jeb Bush, and dismissed First Lady Laura Bush's skin cancer scare as only "a little thing on her leg."
The two guests, meeting for the first time, were discussing their efforts to help victims from Hurricane Rita, which wreaked an estimated $10 billion in damage to the Gulf Coast in September of 2005. On Wednesday, "Bush presented officials with a $2 million donation from the Bush-Clinton Katrina Fund that will pay for operating expenses once South Cameron Memorial Hospital is rebuilt next year," the Associated Press reported When Bush was asked by ABC's Diane Sawyer if he wanted to ask Clooney anything, he jokingly referred to pop star Britney Spears, who was captured by paparazzi wearing no underwear in photographs that instantly spread across the Internet last month. "What is it about Britney Spears -- no -- I don't have a thing," Bush said with a chuckle. "Isn't she rare?" Clooney responded. "I know," Bush said, "I'm not going to bring up her underwear. I'm too old for that kind of situation." Sawyer noted that there was "much reporting about the first lady and the skin cancer." "It's all okay?" Sawyer asked. "Yeah," Bush responded with a chuckle. "I didn't even know that she had this little thing on her leg." After being shown a short clip of his weeping last month, Bush said, "Oh, God, don't mention that." "You know, I was embarrassed about that, but the communications has been such from people that we understand," Bush said. "We understand that you love your kids and they're under fire, you know." "So I don't think I want to do it again, but it was -- I was embarrassed, kind of ashamed," Bush continued. I am so happy to see other people here like Britney. I was on another Avril site, and when I posted that I like Avril and Britney too, some people got upset, and others just didnt seem to understand.
I think there is a misunderstanding about Avril "hating " Britney. I think she meant that because Britney had been so successful, the music industry wanted all young women singers to imitate her. And Avril definitely wants to do her own thing. Yes, they are different musically. But what wrong with lots of different kinds of music? And another thing. I have been on several Britney sites. And I have not seen any Britney fans dissing Avril. I saw something in fact about Britney lstening to her music. Its okay not to like Britney's music(or anyone's) but there is no need to hate them as a person. I hope Britney gets her career back on track. It makes me sad and angry the way she has been attacked in the media,tabloids and everything. Yes, she has made mistakes, like us all.(I think her biggest was marrying K_Fed-but then so many women fall for a louse). And don't think these people who attack Britney wouldnt treat Avril the same way if they found an excuse! |

jeez if u wanna fricken praise her then go to a BRITNEY SPEARS WEBSITE. oh and if u look up 2 a person like britney who doesnt wear underwear and shows things off to the paparazi that DOESNT NEED TO BE SHOWED OFF, and whose gone to rehab and all that crap, then u need to get a better ro model like AVRIL! DUH!
