In 1989 Madonna's video for "Like a Prayer" was considered extremely controversial. It featured burning crosses and Madonna kissing a black Christ-like figure. How times have changed. Today that same video has landed her Madgesty on top of MTV UK's list of the 100 Videos That Broke the Rules.

Britney Spears' sexy schoolgirl antics in "Baby One More Time" makes it to number two, and Michael Jackson's 14-minute zombie epic "Thriller" moonwalks into the third spot. Madonna, whose "Justify My Love" video was banned by MTV in 1990, also has two other videos in the top 10 with "Vogue" at number 5 and "Ray of Light" at number 4. MTV compiled the list by polling 10,000 viewers and will play the entire 100 videos as part of its 25th Anniversary (yikes!) on August 1st.

Dupri, who according to speculation is planning to tie the knot with Jackson on September 26th this year, said that the forthcoming album will set the standard for her rivals in the business, and be a trendsetter. "Only Janet records sound like her. I always look and think, where's Beyonce going to be in 20 years?' It's hard for me to visualise. I don't put them on the same plane”, Contactmusic quoted him, as saying. "Artists just need to make good music. I said to Janet, 'All you got to do is sing.' Britney and Christina Aguilera are all copycats of one person”. "Janet doesn't go for the same typical cars and street videos. She was the reason we started to watch TV. She's back to her full capacity and blowing it out to the level”, he added.

A survey marking the 25th anniversary of the global musical channel MTV has selected Bono the most influential pop star in the past quarter century.

A collage of the top 15 musicians, which includes Michael Jackson at No. 2 and Madonna at No. 3, has been hung on the balcony of Britain's Buckingham Palace, the BBC reported Monday.

The other 22 musicians as ranked by more than 4,000 survey participants are Kurt Cobain, Prince, Eminem, Kylie Minogue, Snoop Dogg, Justin Timberlake, Elton John, Beyonce Knowles, Robbie Williams, Pete Doherty, Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears.

MTV celebrates its 25th anniversary on Tuesday. The video music channel currently reaches 1.3 billion people in 179 countries.

After guzzling down a few Jack Daniel's shots Britney Spears' hubby Kevin Federline jumped into the deejay booth at Las Vegas' 'Pure' nightclub, proclaiming that he had the hottest girl wearing his ring. Federline apparently hit the booze bottles after Britney, who had come to the party to congratulate hubby on the success of wrapping his music video 'Lose Control', left the venue. After the departure of his wife K-Fed yelled an ode to his pop singer wife. "I got the hottest girl in the game wearing my ring", New York Daily News quoted him, as saying. After the party Spears headed to the Sin City restaurant Tao at the Venetian with a few girlfriends and watched the dance floor from a private perch, while at Pure, Federline took centre stage, emceeing from the DJ booth.
