A great mother who is only allowed to see her kids 2 days a week and only under court supervision and had her conservatorship extended till November , which means that her own parents , a judge , a court , medical experts , her own doctors don't think she is a "good mother " or stable enough to make basic decisions for herself .
the very thing she needs to do under the present circumstances is to put out a new album at the end of the year and do 6 months of promotion ,

Washington (ANI): Popstar Britney Spears is planning to return to MTV's VMA accompanied by Olympic golden boy Michael Phelps, it has emerged. The 'Hit Me Baby One More Time' hitmaker has expressed her wish to present the show, after her manager scrapped her live performance at the show.

"She hopes to share the stage with Michael Phelps," Contactmusic quoted a source, as telling US weekly. The MTV Video Music Awards are slated for September 8th 2008. Meanwhile, Britney has gone for a complete makeover, as she is said to be sporting a very elegant hairstyle.

settled is it then that she's not doing anything at the VMA , maybe she will go maybe she won't , I was just asking .

I don't even understand the format of this years VMA , it starts Wednesday the 3rd and ends Sunday the 7 th .
it doesn't look like an award show and more like a promotional week for record company's and advertisers .
It still probably can't be any worse than last year .

She's been pulling her shit together for months now. Taking things step by step and she got there. And I applaud her for that, she's been through hell and back! Her relationship with Jadyen and Sean is now healthy and she's there for them. She suffered from post-pordum depression and she's better now, she really loves and cares for her children.

Who says she'll be doing 6 months of promo? She's doing things on her own terms now. Britney is finally human, she is no longer a brand, people get that now. She's flesh and blood and has emotions like everyone else.

I have a LOT of respect for Britney. These last couple years of her life have been tumultuous to say the least.

I'm happy she's well.

looks like we practically agree - post partum depression I can believe , I just don't think there is a quick fix to her problems , I had a friend that took 2 years to recover from that and if she's Bi-Polar , which I doubt but people keep saying , then there is no fix just getting it manageable .

Have record companies or managers ever had a reputation of seeing their acts as human , I hope so for her sake and hopefully Winhouse can find decent people but I doubt it , A "big come back" is everybodys last chance to make major $$$ of her .

Britney Spears will open the 2008 Video Music Awards, confirms MTV

“MTV has long played an important role in my career,” Britney says in a statement. “How can I not be there to kick off their 25th VMA’s? I’m excited to open the entire show, to say hi to my fans and to be nominated.”

Although Brit Brit is kicking off this year’s VMAs, there will not be a performance. So what will it be? A surprise that should not to be missed!

Britney is nominated this year for Best Female Video, Best Pop Video and Video of the Year for “Piece of Me.”

Lynne Spears said her daughter began drinking at just 13 years old, lost her virginity at 14 and began taking drugs at 15, reported The Sun.
Spears senior said Britney started drinking after joining Disney’s squeaky-clean Mickey Mouse Club.

Soon after she quit the show, 14-year-old Britney had sex with an 18-year-old high school footballer, according to Lynne.
And she tried drugs for the first time at 15 when she recorded her debut album Baby One More Time.
