I just finished listening...*speechless* I'm worn out emotionally. I feel like I've just been on an intense journey. Cause that's what this album is, a journey through her thoughts, experiences and memories. This album is like an acid trip (not know what that's like, but it's the best way to describe it)
I recieved an orgasm, an audiogasm as they say.

Seriously,
'Torch'
'Tapes'
Her most touching songs ever. I got chills down my spine listening to 'Torch', I felt like I was there as a bystander witnessing all of those moments.

And 'Tapes' is just MAGNIFCENT. The studio version ended up so amazingly, the organ! And those hauntingly beautiful "ah's" she does at the end are as superior as the live ones. And it makes complete sense that the song fades out. As the "tapes in her head" loop and repeat as well.

'Citizen of The Planet' I LOVE the agressive chorus. It's almost metal like. Love it and it's so Alanis. And the outro is just...WOW

The one song that truly disappointed me was 'Straitjacket' I knew it was gonna sound electronic cause all the songs are produced by Guy but this one is TOO electronic. I expected heavy guitars to suddenly kick in but it never happened...
She sings with this tempestuous voice, making a strong point but the music doesn't reflect and live up to those statements at all. I think she did it on purpose so she wouldn't have created 'You Oughta Know' part 2. Which is lame, but I'll deal with it.

'Giggling Again For No reason' also disappointed me a bit, but I like the unique sound and it has FrouFrou written all over it. So I quite like the song and I'm sure it will grow on me lots.

'Incomplete' now I've heard it I can totally accept and see it being the next single. It's very radio friendly and will appeal to a lot of women and men possibly when you think about it and ignore the "Like the women I see on their 30th anniversaries" and perhaps "And I’ll be married with children and maybe adopt." But it could absolutely become a women anthem.

It's the best choice for the next single, it's summery and I think it will catch your ear when you listen to the radio.

Other songs I can see ending up as singles are:

'Versions of Violence'
'Tapes'
'Giggling Again For No Reason'
'In Praise of The Vulnerable Man' awesome song btw! Real poppy and effective reminds me of 'Unsent' mixed with 'UR'.

I'm completely overwhelmed by this album. And I can't believe we'll have the other SIX bonus tracks very shortly!!!

Thank U, Alanis.

lol OK, 'Straitjacket' has grown immensly on me. The chorus' melody is really good, and those layered vocals are catchy.

Song makes me wanna shake it. I'm actually glad Alanis made such a completely different song, the title and theme makes it normal that the music is so un-Alanis. Cause she's not in her comfort zone, so to speak. Genius infact.

First not-focus-at-all and not-full listen: likable. Album starter is like So-Called Chaos. That's all for now .

I agree 100%. Didn't like it that much at first, but now it's probably my favorite song.
I love Citizen of the Planet, Torch, Tapes, Versions of Violence, and Moratorium, too.
I'm sure that Incomplete will grow on me, it's a good song.
Not a big fan of In Praise of the Vulnerable Man.
Don't like Giggling Again for No Reason at all. I hope it'll grow on me, but right now, I just really don't like it. Her voice sounds sort of weird...and, like...I don't know.
Also, I fell in love with Underneath and Not As We all over again.

*Goes to listen to the album again*

Great to see others enjoy it so much!! Makes me all giddy haha.
I bet GAFNR will grow on you. I had the luck to discover FrouFrou so I could get an idea of what to expect for the new sound of Alanis, that transition made it easier for me. The chorus if very FrouFrou/Imogen Heap.

'Not As We' is dull for me, it's been for a while. I would have loved for it to have strings, it could've been a beautiful song. It already is beautifully touching lyric wise, but it lacks something for me to enjoy musically.

lol, I'm already over 'Incomplete' it's weird but I like lost touch with the chorus, it doesn't interest me anymore... uh oh. I hope it grow back.

'Straitjacket' got stuck in my head, even when I was sleeping it was crazy (pun not intended )

And I'm so into the chorus of 'Citizen of The Planet' it's so DAMN BAM BAM DAMN BAM BAM haha that's the best way to describe it. And the outro keeps bowing my mind!

I'm listening carefully today, promise . Her voice is creeeeeepy in Versions of Violence. During the first listens, I was like, is this Ours (a band)? Then I go check the song and it's ALANIS!

I'm digging Citizen of the Planet and In Praise of the Vulnerable Man.

Oh yeah I forgot you didn't spoil yourself with any clips. It must've indeed been weird to hear VOV for the first time not expecting those vocals.

Nice choice of songs your digging there Don't stop the listening party!

Alanis Morissette is a Rockefeller Rocker

Alanis Morissette rocks out onstage during NBC’s Today Show concert series at Rockefeller Center on Friday in New York City.
Earlier in the year, Alanis, 33, attempted a comeback with her single “Underneath”.
WHAT DO YOU THINK of Alanis’ new look? Anyone see a little Sheryl Crow?

Heavy 'Today' show performance for Alanis Morissette
Alanis Morissette performed on the "Today" show Friday with a noticeably larger-than-usual look. Maybe her unflattering pants were to blame.
Just a year before, the "Underneath" singer appeared trim 'n' toned in while performing at the Stanley Cup finals in Ottawa.
Morissette split from fiance Ryan Reynolds in 2007, after a three-year engagement. Reynolds announced his engagement to "Vicky Cristina Barcelona" star Scarlett Johansson earlier this month.
The pop singer, who has admitted to struggling with anorexia and bulimia, is releasing a new album in June.
"Flavors of Entanglement" is Morissette's first album in three years.

Do these pants make me look fat?
Alanis Morissette looked bottom-heavy in grey slacks on the "Today" show Friday. But the singer looked much slimmer at the Stanley Cup finals in 2007.

Alanis Morissette Pregnant?
Alanis Morissette was on The Today Show this morning, prompting pregnancy rumors. (AP Images)A heftier version of Alanis Morissette appeared on "The Today Show" today and the Internets are going wild with speculation. Is she pregnant? And if so, with who's baby? Dave Coulier. Cut. It. Out.
Morissette and her fiance actor Ryan Renoylds split in 2007 and Renoylds is now engaged to Scarlett Johansson.
Morissette has an album coming out on June 10 entitled, "Flavors of Entanglement."

Alanis Morissette Pregnant? Drew Barrymore, Justin Long Engaged?
It must be a slow week for Britney Spears news since Alanis Morissette seems to be the target of this week’s pregnancy rumors while Drew Barrymore and Justin Long have secured top spot for this week’s engagement news.
And while there are no photos to support the gossip, the news is spreading the Internet like wildfire – almost as fast as rumors that Barrymore and her beau are heading for the altar.
Is Alanis really Pregnant?
It’s definitely possible that the world renowned vocalist has a bun in the oven. And while there’s no word on who the potential daddy-to-be could be, if we had to guess, we’d bet our fall wardrobe that she took a trip to the sperm bank.
And are Drew and Justin Engaged?

Alanis Morissette's fat jibe

Saturday, 24 May 2008
Alanis Morissette's eating disorders were triggered by a record executive calling her "fat".
The 'Ironic' singer was called into the studio by the executive and told she needed to go on a diet, the remark sent the Canadian star into a cycle of anorexia and bulimia.
She said: "He suggested I was getting too fat, saying: 'You need to go on a diet.' My response was, 'But I'm a singer.' He said, 'Yes, well, you need to get small again.' That started a whole cycle. Two days later I was sticking my fingers down
