They should totally record a song called "Not The Doctor's Promiscuous Girlfriend". It'd be a worldwide hit

^haha. only not the doctor was from when alanis was good. We could come up with better more appropriate named for her next record i'm sure even though we haven't heard it. Like... "Over-analytical Single Thirty-something that Fancies Herself Quite Articulate" I'm sure she would like "Cliches I Didn't Know were Cliches" How bout "Everybody Likes a Wordy Chorus" Or "The Coincidental Misseducation of Alanis Morrisette." That works great for me, seeing as how everything she lists as "ironic" is actually coincidential, then everyone started using the word out of context.

Alanis Morissette Gets Dancey and Personal on Next LP
Alanis Morissette is back in the studio working on Flavors of Entanglement, her first new studio album since 2004’s So-Called Chaos. A lot has happened in the interim — including a well-publicized split with her fiancée, actor Ryan Reynolds — and yes, in addition to more vast political concerns, she’s talking about her life on the album. “Writing about my own personal relationships is my favorite thing to do ’cause it’s the only thing I can really comment on with any kind of conviction or authority,” she says. “I guess I could have fictionalized this whole record, but that wouldn’t have been fun for me.”
While Flavors maintains some of So-Called’s buoyant sound, according to Morissette, “There’s a nice cross-section on this one. There’s so much joy and levity … and then there’s kind of rock bottom, ‘Holy shit, I am a broken woman’ moment.” Morissette tapped Guy Sigsworth (the former Frou Frou member who’s worked with Seal, Björk and Madonna) as a co-writer, with hopes of expanding her sound. “I think there’s more technological aspects to it on a sonic level than ever before,” Morissette tells Rolling Stone. “I love to dance so there’s a lot of loops and beats on this record where you can dance your face off.”
Among the songs making the cut are “Underneath,” which deals with communication breakdowns, and “Not As We” (”You know how you can resist hitting rock bottom for a long time? That song just goes ‘ok, I’m going. All the way down’ “). And even though it (accidentally) got her a whole heap of attention, don’t expect the album to feature Alanis’ hilariously mournful version of the Black Eyed Peas’ “My Humps.” “The law is such that whenever I think no one’s going to give a shit, sometimes, they do. And vice versa, by the way,” she says.
The singer does admit her days of covering nonsensical songs are far from over — but she won’t reveal her next target. “There’s a few songs that have been cracking me up lately that I might have to dabble in,” she says. “Let’s just say [one of them] has to do with misogyny. And I don’t even know the title of the song so I’m not even withholding. I gotta find out and interpret it probably within the next couple weeks.” The Canadian songstress anticipates finishing the album within the same window, and then shifting her focus to some upcoming film projects, like her role in the adaptation of Philip K. Dick’s Radio Free Albemuth, as well as working on a book.

Looks like Alanis is going back to her roots, kinda anways haha. Can't believe she's gonna do more dancy like songs now, that'll be something alright. I already loved the beat in "Underneath" so I'm not worried.
And she needs to stop saying that her damn book is coming out, she's been saying that for YEARS. But that movie she worked on, sounds really interesting.
Yaay for some new Alanis tunes, I need some me some Alanis fix.

Those songtitles sure sound interesting! Can't wait to hear 'It's A Bitch To Grow Up' and lmao at 'On the Tequila'.
I'm so excited about this record, it's been too long really. The Goddess is coming back.

On THE tequila? That's like when your grandpa says "Are you on THE marijuana, are you listening to THE rock and roll?" That sounds so strange.
I've always been put off by her songwriting, especially if you don't have attatchment issues, like really clinging to someone, it makes it seem like she's scolding you in her songs. Like "shit, sorry dude." I hope she stops getting dumped.

Yes, you've adressed that before about her songwriting, but that's Alanis for ya. She's genuine in her own doings. And there's so much more going on in her life, besides her need of affection. Not all her songs are like YOK.
I'm just glad she's finally having a bit of fun, she's looking REAL good recently. Very happy, she's in a real good place being a single woman. So 'On The Tequila' is a probably a women's anthem. She's never really done that before, feeling sorry for myself lyrics she has.. but this is a surprise.
She's experimenting with things, I'm grateful for that. The fact that she's been writing and producing songs with Guy Sigsworth is awesome.
And she's not straying too far from her typical Alanis ballads, cause 'Not As We' is just that. A beautiful heartfelt ballad, without self-indulged drama.

Good to know she's working with Guy Sigsworth.
Lol, glad "My Humps" is not going to make it on her new album .

lol! No, she wouldn't put that on the record. But expect her to perform it live. I can see the crowds going nuts.
Her version of the song is so depressing though.
