I dunno why I suddenly feel possessive over them, like "pfft you don't even remember them in their prime!"
But yo... before judging them on how catchy Summertime is, maybe listen to some of their hits like Step By Step and Hangin' Tough. It might change your mind. In fact I think if I hadn't grown up with those songs and had them there as sort of a novelty my whole life, I might think they were increeeeeeeeedibly cheesy now.
But I *did* grow up with them, and I did (and probably still do) have a Jordan Knight doll, and therefore think they are awesome (or at least think it's hilarious that they're back) so I'm seeing them. September 21st, 11th row floors.
I mean seriously. Listen to "Please Don't Go Girl." If it's the original version, imagine it being sung by a fourteen-year-old boy. (Or if it's the Aaron Carter cover, it's a ten-year-old boy) Fucking adorable, no?
Now imagine that it's being sung by a thirty-seven-year-old man.
Fucking creepy, no?
It just loses something.
