Lesbian singer’s new song: ‘I Didn’t Just Kiss Her’
Singer-songwriter Jen Foster, an out lesbian, is promoting her new song, I Didn’t Just Kiss Her, which she describes as “a witty, sexually-charged, tongue-in-cheek response to Katy Perry’s wildly popular I Kissed A Girl.”

Jen Foster’s New Song “I Didn’t Just Kiss Her” Goes Viral Online
Nashville – Jen Foster, an award-winning singer/songwriter who is also an out lesbian, is making waves with her new single “I Didn’t Just Kiss Her.” Just days after it was posted online, the song has already been played more than 20,000 times, and has been featured on radio station playlists around the country.
“I had no idea it would take off like this,” says Foster, who wrote the song as a witty, sexually-charged, tongue-in-cheek response to Katy Perry’s wildly popular “I Kissed A Girl” released last year. “It just seemed like there was probably more to it, you know? I thought this would be a good way to tell the other side of the story.”
While Perry’s “I Kissed A Girl” has been a hit on the pop charts, there has been some backlash within both the gay community and the alternative press against its perceived homophobia. Some commentators have noted Perry’s song reinforces the notion that there’s something wrong with two girls kissing, by saying it’s “not what, good girls do // not how they should behave.”
In “I Didn’t Just Kiss Her,” Foster sings, “I didn't just kiss her // We went all the way and she liked it // She likes to think she didn't invite it // But these scratches aren't because she tried to fight it.” When asked, Foster admits the lyrics are slightly more risqué than her usual fare, but adds “it felt right, and I went with it.”
Foster’s enthusiastic fans are using popular social media tools like Twitter, Facebook and MySpace to feverishly spread the world about the new song. “There’s a club remix in the works, and we’re already starting to plan the video,” says Foster. “It’s all happening so fast, but I’m loving every minute of it.”

Katy Perry delivers hot - not cold - performance at First Avenue
Katy Perry brought her sassy personality to First Avenue on Tuesday night (March 24, 2009) as well as her growing collection of radio hits. Tell us again, why do we swoon over Britney when we've got Katy?
Katy Perry played First Ave and she liked it. And lucky for us, Tony Nelson was there to witness the spectacle first hand. Judging from the photos, Perry kept her growing legacy of sass alive by appearing in front of a giant light-up cat head and romping around in a sleeveless white shift dress and leggings. Precious!
We've seen Agyness be boyish. We've seen Agyness be shredded and dishevelled. We've seen Agyness dressed as some kind of Cirque du Soleil character from my nightmares. But what happens when Agy tries to be, you know, fancy?
How sad -- I didn't realize Agyness got electocuted at her Disney Princess Birthday Bash.
And this is... rough:
She kind of looks like a homeless woman who, having once been rich and refusing to give up her favorite fur, went dumpster-diving at a bridal store to find an appropriately shiny dress to wear with it.
Actually, the pink reminds me of something her opponent Katy Perry wore to the Grammys -- the one with the giant corsage stapled to a napkin and glued to her stomach. But since (unlike Agyness) we're all already rather familiar with Katy's super-girly clothes -- from the boob eyes to the irritatingly cutesy hot-pants phase -- let's do the opposite for her, and see what happens when La Perry attempts pants:
For all the costumey insanity she wears on-stage -- it's very apt that she ended up in the Charo bracket -- I'd rather see Katy Perry wearing a carousel than attending events in a zebra-print jumpsuit from the Chico's clearance rack. I'm having acid flashbacks to things my grandparents gave me for Christmas when I was 9.
It gets worse:
Pink animal print AND spandex in the form of a possible catsuit, BELTED, with giant sunglasses and a whiff of the polterwang? Seriously, Katy, do we have to get Rachel Zoe up in here? Because say what you will about that woman's unhealthily protruding sternum, but Rachel Zoe would NEVER have allowed this to happen. The cast of Cats wouldn't even have allowed this to happen, and they wore this type of shit every night.

WHAT DO YOU THINK of Kelly’s new cover art — HOT or NOT?
In May 2009 issue Loaded Magazine features a story on Katy Perry and tells us 5 reasons why we love her! OK, let’s hear them…
1. Ms Perry is single-handedly responsible for a surge in English girls snogging their mates in nightclubs.
2. She loves it over here. “I Love England,” Katy said, after flying over from LA to pick up a BRIT award here.
3. She can fold a napkin into the shape of an erect male willy and a set of female breasts. Not bad, as party tricks go.
4. She angered miserable lesbians who have accused Perry of “lezploitation”.
5. Katy Perry is absolutely brilliant in bed.
