Singer Katy Perry wants a family - but not right now. The 24-year-old Hot 'n Cold performer eats birth control pills like candy to make sure there's no chance she ends up pregnant.
Katy, who recently split from boyfriend Gym Class Heroes Travis McCoy, says although she wants a family, she's not ready yet. She wants to focus her energy on her career.
"I love being in love, I love the idea of marriage and making babies - but not yet. Not until I'm 30. I basically chew my birth control tablets - I chew them like vitamin C, I'm like, 'nomnomnomnom.'" Funny, when I was on birth control pills, I never made the 'nomnomnomnom' sound - they weren't that tasty. Things must have changed in the last few years!
Perry adds, "It's one of those things where I have no energy left to give to anybody. It doesn't matter if I love them or not. I give it all away on tour and when I'm meeting people.
"This is a really important time in my life. During the next two or three years, if I do things right, I will have a real career, and if I don't, well, I'll just be that girl who kissed a girl.
"There are about five hundred other girls who are trying to and dying to be in my position - I can't take anything for granted. It's all about work - it has to be. I learned everything from reading the Madonna autobiography."
Well, she's a smart girl - if she doesn't want babies right now, then chew those pills up!
It looks like Keith Urban, in close competition with Prince, will likely take next week’s top album spot on the charts (with Defying Gravity), so now’s as good a time as any to take a close listen to the disc’s second and current single, “Kiss a Girl,” a traditionally gendered but welcome corrective to Katy Perry’s entirely salacious and poorly observed “I Kissed a Girl.” This sounds rather like the first single, “I’m In,” which is to say, like effervescent pop with a nice emo tinge. The lyrics, meanwhile, seem a little innocent for a guy with a tour bus and the likely hint of a tour bus in his blue jeans (plus, they’re hardly as nicely written as lots of standard country fare), but whatever else he’s nailing, he also nails that reluctant first step back into romantic relations after a broken heart.
Zooey Deschanel 'Katy Perry Comparisons Are Annoying'
Zooey Deschanel has often been compared to Katy Perry in the looks department, but now the actress has revealed how annoying she finds it when people get the two stars confused.
"It's a little bit annoying, to be totally blunt." Deschanel tells MTV News. "The only similarity that we have is that we look a little bit alike."
"I have met her before. She seems like a nice person." Zooey says of the 'Hot N Cold' singer. "I'm happy that she's famous enough now that she's not going out and being mistaken for me."
"I used to get, 'I heard you were out at such-and-such club drinking whiskey!' [When] I was at home watching TV," Deschanel added. "I think we lead very different lives."
"At some point I feel like this will stop being a thing. I like the way my life goes. It's sort of strange to be associated with someone that's doing such different stuff than me. It's weird."
The Zooey Is Tired Of Being Called Katy
It seems that Zooey Deschanel is getting a little miffed that instead of being recognized for everything she has done in movies she is instead being mistaken everywhere she goes for Katy Perry. In an interview with MTV, The Zooey says, “It’s a little bit annoying, to be totally blunt. The only similarity that we have is that we look a little bit alike.”
It would suck to have worked for years and years trying to be recognized for what you have done and then all of a sudden people are probably running up to her and making really bad kissing a girl jokes.
The good thing about The Zooey though is she is happy for the success of Katy, she just wants her to maybe dye her hair blonde or something. If I were The Zooey I wouldn’t worry about it too much. Give it another six months or so and then people will forget all about Katy Perry.
Zooey Deschanel Annoyed At Perry Likeness
Actress Zooey Deschanel is sick of people mistaking her for pop sensation Katy Perry.
The pair share an uncanny resemblance and fans continually get the two muddled up. But the Yes Man star has had enough of the comparisons and is desperate to distance herself from the singer.
She tells MTV.com, "It's a little bit annoying, to be totally blunt. The only similarity that we have is that we look a little bit alike. I have met her before. She seems like a nice person. I'm happy that she's famous enough now that she's not going out and being mistaken for me.
"I used to get, 'I heard you were out at such-and-such club drinking whiskey!' (when) I was at home watching TV. I think we lead very different lives. At some point I feel like this will stop being a thing. I like the way my life goes. It's sort of strange to be associated with someone that's doing such different stuff than me. It's weird."
I'm really dissapointed in her, I think she has a great voice, if she keeps it in her range (I think she's better with low notes than with high ones). I think she plays way too much on selling sex. She's too obssesed with that for my liking.
^ really? I don't think she is really selling sex. she is just playing her game. fun and playfull. i think alot of people don't get her. she is really awesome.. I don't really see her selling sex?
& yes she is a great person + especially with her fans
