Zooey Deschanel annoyed that everyone keeps thinking she's Katy Perry

Actress Zooey Deschanel says people keep thinking she's singer Katy Perry, and it's sorta getting on her last nerve.

She tells MTV News that people confuse her with the pop singer all the time, and enough's enough, already.

She says: "It’s a little bit annoying, to be totally blunt. The only similarity that we have is that we look a little bit alike. I have met her before. She seems like a nice person. I'm happy that she’s famous enough now that she's not going out and being mistaken for me."

On the other hand, she says, it happens often enough that it's starting to become kind of a daily annoyance that people come up to her thinking she's someone totally different.

When Katy's I Kissed A Girl went into ad nauseum over-rotation, even Katy said she was totally sick of her own song.

Zooey was probably even more sick of it, because you know everyone who mistook her for Katy was coming up and asking her if she was happy that she kissed a girl.

No. No, she wasn't happy that she kissed a girl -- because that girl that kissed a girl was not Zooey.

Actually, she doesn't even really get why so many people confuse her for Katy, anyway, saying, "I think we lead very different lives. At some point I feel like this will stop being a thing. [But] it's sort of strange to be associated with someone that's doing such different stuff than me. It's weird."

Zooey Deschanel was charming when she appeared on Craig Ferguson. Zooey pointed out recently that although she aknowledges looking like Katy Perry, she doesn’t like people running up to her identifying her as Katy Perry.

We think Zooey and Katy should do a movie together, as sisters.

Katy Perry took a break from major international touring to headline Club Skirts' Dinah's White Diamond Party in Palm Springs, California wearing a special shiny red carpet ensemble. I wonder what the stunning singer thinks about Zooey Deschanel recently complaining about their supposed likeness?

Zooey said that "It's a little bit annoying, to be totally blunt. The only similarity that we have is that we look a little bit alike. I used to get, 'I heard you were out at such-and-such club drinking whiskey!' [when] I was at home watching TV. I think we lead very different lives."

Does Zooey have anything to complain about? This has to be helping her popularity, if nothing else.

I just see her as an overly sexual person, I have no problem with people letting others know about their sexuality but it seems like she's faking it and making it over the top to seem insteresting. In all interviews I've seen the subject gets brought up by her, and when she's singing I feel she's trying to make it sound 'sexier and more like, sexually raw' so it'll sell. She sometimes dresses to out there aswell. I'm just not a fan, especially not since she seems to be so into Jesus and God too, it just comes across as she's made up.

I can see how you would say that, but I honestly don't see her being overly sexual. People are going to put her in that box because her biggest songs have been of the same content.

A Russian version of Katy Perry's music video for single "Hot N Cold" has just been found. The video mainly deals with her live on-stage performance accompanied with a band during a small bash.

"Hot N Cold" is the third single taken from Katy's sophomore studio album "One of the Boys". Since making its way out in September 2008, the track landed at the top spot on various charts, including Billboard Hot 100.

Most recently, Katy Perry has also filmed an upcoming music video to promote her song called "Waking Up in Vegas". She was joined by "Avatar" actor Joel David Moore, who plays her love interest, during a shot in the valet area at the Palms and a Sky Villa in the Fantasy Tower back in March.
