"Katy Perry All Smiles After Her New York City Concert"
Katy Perry leaves her concert in New York City in all smiles, she took two hours after the concert to come out and greet fans, but when she came out she signed autographs for fans. She was then rushed to her car.
Katy Perry looked quitte fashionable as she walked her doggie purse while heading out of her hotel in New York City on Wednesday (April 8).
The “I Kissed a Girl” singer met up with her bandmates before heading into a meeting at her record label in downtown Manhattan.
Meanwhile, it sounds as if Katy has her sights set on a summer collaboration with DJ Calvin Harris - as she’s reportedly begged for his help.
Harris told the BBC, “There are some murmurings about (working with) Katy Perry. But you can never tell with Americans whether it’ll happen or not. She sent me a big long email comparing me to Phil Spector, which I found incredible - but you’ve got to laugh haven’t you?”
The DJ adds, “We’re possibly doing something. There are a bunch of people that I could be doing stuff with - to be honest probably half of it won’t work out because I’m on the road for most of the year now. But I’m a massive fan of Katy Perry. She wants to do, like, a fun album, like a dance album but obviously still pop. I kind of fit that bill so I guess that’s why she thought of me.”
Katy Perry has her own unique celebrity street style. Check out her sweater knitted to look like a jacket. We'd totally wear this - if we were six and our Grandmother had picked it out.
Katy Perry Pops Out In New York…
On Wednesday afternoon Katy Perry was wearing an interesting sweater, dress, cardigan, jumper… actually what is that thing (?) when we spotted her heading to a meeting with her record label in a midtown office building in New York yesterday.
Katy Perry Heads To Record Label Meeting In New York City
Katy Perry was spotted heading to a meeting with her record label in a midtown office building wearing a colorful ensemble on Wednesday (April 8) in New York City.
Katy Perry has fun in New York
Katy Perry has never been one to blend into the background, so it wasn't surprising to see her in this rather vivid dress while out and about in New York.
Love the studded boots and ribbed tights, but the dress says fun and frivolity rather than classy and chic - which probably suits the singer fine.
One person who might wish Katy would up her game in the style stakes is Zooey Deschanel though. The actress told MTV that she's is constantly being mistaken for the I Kissed a Girl singer Katy Perry and has had quite enough of it.
"It's a little bit annoying, to be totally blunt. The only similarity that we have is that we look a little bit alike. I used to get, 'I heard you were out at such-and-such club drinking whiskey!' [when] I was at home watching TV. I think we lead very different lives."
Must be especially annoying when Katy occasionally wears such fashion monstrosities.
Katy Perry in Ray-Ban
Singer Katy Perry is almost as famous for her unique look as she is for her “I Kissed a Girl” hit pop song. She is a trendsetter who takes fashion risks with her vintage-inspired style and jet black hair.
Perry was spotted in midtown Manhattan today with a colorful sweater and leggings combo, and a great pair of sunglasses! Perry’s is wearing Ray Ban Clubmaster sunglasses in gray with silver detailing and green lenses. The semi-rimless small frames come in many different frame and lens color combinations, but I love the gray that Perry is wearing.
Most styles that are in fashion right now have large plastic frames, so it’s nice to see a smaller and more delicate style that fits a woman’s face. The Ray Ban Clubmaster sunglasses are also extremely affordable, for $139.95 online at Sunglass Hut or at a Ray-Ban retail store.
'I can't be that grown-up Shirley Temple girl wearing the stupid strawberry in her hair,' she says of more mature sound.
Attention fans of strawberry hair accessories: You're about to lose Katy Perry forever.
Well, actually, you'll probably have her in your camp until about October, because that's when she'll begin work on the follow-up to her breakthrough One of the Boys album, which she pledges will be a strawberry-free affair.
"I definitely want to make a follow-up pop, fun record. I'm not looking to alienate my fans, but I can't be that grown-up Shirley Temple girl wearing the stupid strawberry in her hair all the time ... because I'd kill myself or someone else would for me," Perry laughed. "So I'm really excited to always be evolving, and changing; with my look, with my music, it keeps me entertained as well."
And she's not stopping with the haberdashery, either. From the sound of things, Perry might be moving away from a lot of what made Boys a platinum success. You know ... all the kissing of the girls and whatnot. Which means fans should prepare themselves for Katy Perry, the semi-adjusted sorta-adult.
"[Boys] was like my 'Dear Diary' album, from when I was like 17 to 23. ... It was my perspective then, and it was so widespread, and some of the things that really meant a lot to me at 17, you know, they change. They evolve," she said. "So this record will be a very present record for me. It will be me now. It won't take five years — hopefully. It will be Katy Perry as a young, 25-year-old woman."
And one aspect of that young woman's life that will definitely be covered on the new album is the near-constant tabloid attention. From digging into her past to covering her breakups and speculating on her spats, it seems the paps have been working overtime to make Perry's life a nightmare. But, as a burgeoning pop star, she's learning to take it all in stride. And keep it balanced.
"Well, all of this is new. You're not born into all of this attention. So I'm learning how to deal with it all. And I was in a relationship prior to all of this, and so, unfortunately, when it didn't work out, it just became public," she said. "It's one of those things where I try to keep it pretty level. I think people are naturally interested in the details of someone that's living an extraordinary life, and I appreciate that. But I think, not only are people like, 'What's she wearing?,' but I think they're also interested in, like, 'What's waking up in Vegas like? What's the tour like? What's the next record going to be like?' So I'm trying to keep the flow and the balance."
The rock chick split from Gym Class Heroes frontman Travis McCoy, 27, earlier this year.
And she bared her soul during the first of three sell-out gigs at New York’s Fillamore Theatre this week. Flanked by giant inflatable fruit and the “biggest pussy you’ll ever see on stage” – her cat – KP lampooned blokes in general.
She said: “Guys are like artichokes, it’s impossible to find the heart,” she said. “You can be searching and searching but only get the tough stuff.
“Girls have intuition, they can tell when a player doesn’t have a heart. I’m using my intuition.”
But it seems Katy, 24, feels partially responsible for her predicament.
She added: “How many girls have freaked out in front of their boyfriends? I suffer from Satan’s period. It’s a beast.”
Men issues aside, the singer’s colourful Hello Katy show is capable of giving punters cataracts.
Dressed in what looked like Sir Elton John’s curtains, she delivered Hot ’N’ Cold like a seasoned pro before producing a theatrical cover of Queen’s Don’t Stop Me Now.
And show climax I Kissed A Girl signalled a symphony of lady screams.
Who needs men when you have a loyal army of girlie fans buying your records?
Katy’s show hits our shores in June.
"Katy Perry Does That Hokey Pokey Sh*t"
Katy Perry held her second sold out concert in New York City yesterday where she did the Hokey Pokey dance and explained how she finally understood it.
You might think the Hokey Pokey is just a fun and innocent song to dance to, but some of you might be surprised to discover what it means to Katy Perry.
'I can't be that grown-up Shirley Temple girl wearing the stupid strawberry in her hair,' she says of more mature sound.
