Blah blah blah, everyone shut up about Paper magazine's Beautiful People party last night okay? If we were 1 of the alleged 4,000 people who had gotten an invite, we would have definitely shown up on time (8 p.m. sharp!) and made it through the front door to hear Katy Perry play. Unlike Paper's own editor Peter Davis, who arrived too late to make it past the mob outside of Hiro's. Whatever. Hiro's is over, anyway. Not that we're bitter or anything.

As she entered her car, a bit of static caused Katy to flash the reinforced upper part of the control pants as her blue satin dress clung to her hosiery.

Last night, after her Spanx-assisted shopping trip, Katy hit Manhattan in a peacock jersey dress, designed for H&M by Matthew Williamson, who describes the dress's colours as 'both desirable and precious'.
Her dress confirms the singer's reputation as one of the kookiest - and sexiest - girls in pop.

Katy's career could hardly be going better. Her biggest hit, I Kissed a Girl, was a number one last year in 11 countries, including the UK, and sold 3.3 million digital downloads in the US alone.

Her new single, Waking Up in Vegas, is released later this month.
Katy's tour takes her all over the US, as well as Japan Europe.
Her UK dates include June shows in London, Brighton, Birmingham, Newcastle and Glasgow.

Despite her musical achievements, the singer recently bemoaned her lack of success in the romance department.

One possible reason she gives for relationship problems is her own irrational behaviour at certain times of the month. 'How many girls have freaked out in front of their boyfriends?' she asked the audience. 'I suffer from Satan's period. It's a beast,' she concluded, disturbingly.
She may not be able to control her mood swings, but at least, thanks to her new pants, Katy can control her shape

Katy Perry is now the second celebrity to get us excited about the Matthew Williamson for H&M collection, which arrives in selected stores later this month.

She attended the party for Paper Magazine’s The Beautiful People in New York last night wearing blue 3/4 sleeves satin dress, which had a brightly coloured peacock feather print.

She wore the dress with black tights *shudders*, silver peep-toes, and cute pink Lulu Guinness metallic lips shaped clutch.

This was not on my original wish list, but I do really love the peacock print, and the sequined detail on the hem of the sleeves.

Only Katy Perry could get away with posing with a giant, metallic purse that is shaped like a pair of lips. The singer was celebrated last night at Paper magazine's 12th annual Beautiful People party, co-hosted by H&M and Skyy Vodka.
Katy not only graced the cover of the "beautiful people" issue of Paper but also performed at the fete. K.P. was joined by Lady Sovereign (more like Lord Sovereign), Kat DeLuna, Richie Rich and Jaslene Gonzalez (please eat a sandwich).

Katy Perry Opens Up About Her Friendship With Rihanna

'She's a really cool chick,' Perry says of 'Umbrella' singer.

Earlier this month, tabloids began reporting that Katy Perry and Rihanna had become "inseparable" following the alleged February 8 altercation between the "Umbrella" singer and her boyfriend, Chris Brown.
According to a "source" quoted by U.K. tabloid The Sun, Perry "was there when Rihanna needed her the most," reaching out to her and taking her out for nights on the town (there were even rumors of a planned Puerto Rican vacation). Until now, Perry had remained silent on those reports, but when MTV News caught up with her on Wednesday, she talked about her relationship with the embattled pop star.

"I don't think I really, like, reached out to her. We're friends and we're both kind of on this crazy rollercoaster, and ... it's nice to have good girlfriends. I pride myself on having cool chicks in my life, and she's a cool chick," Perry said. "We've hung out a couple times. ... Of course I consider her a friend, but it's not like 'I'm there,' making a big deal of it, because I feel weird about that type of stuff. I'm trying to always be there for my friends. She's a really cool chick. I love her style. ... She's one of those unaffected people."
Perry added that — surprise! — tabloid reports had slightly exaggerated the extent of her friendship with Rihanna, saying that while they've hung out, there's no Puerto Rican romp in the works.
"Um, you know, we're just buddies. We've had dinner, and that's about it," she said. "Her personal life has probably already been blown, I don't really have to go into that. I'm sure she probably wants a break."
What Perry wouldn't talk about was Rihanna's current state. After all, she's still got to protect her friend.
"I think she's doing fine. I don't know," Perry said. "You should ask her."
