The 'Hot N Cold' singer claims she has a high tolerance for alcohol and rarely suffers from hangovers.
I want to drink really good wine and really good beer, because I like really good wine and really good beer
The 24-year-old star said: "I can drink eight beers and feel fine the next day. I usually drink dark beer because I hate hangovers, and I can't drink and work in the same schedule."
Katy also revealed she would rather drink at home with her close friends than party in a bar or club.
She added to Q magazine: "My party time is usually a dinner party with friends. I couldn't give a f**k about going to clubs. I want to drink really good wine and really good beer, because I like really good wine and really good beer."
Katy has previously denied claims she battled alcoholism while waiting for her break in the music industry.
She said: "I didn't even know what rehab was until Amy Winehouse sang about it. I've tried things of course, but I've never been addicted. I've never had any problems."
You'd never get Katy Perry and Gwyneth Paltrow out on the tiles together, but they have something in common... The pair have both recently claimed to love 'good wine'.
"I couldn't give a f**k about going to clubs," Katy told Q magazine. "I want to drink really good wine and really good beer, because I like really good wine and really good beer... I can drink eight beers and feel fine the next day. I usually drink dark beer because I hate hangovers and I can't drink and work in the same schedule... "
Kelly Clarkson Still #1, Slams Katy Perry Comparisons + Denies Lesbian Rumors
No new singles enter the Top 10 of Billboard's Hot 100 chart this week, and Kelly Clarkson's "My Life Would Suck Without You" remains #1.
I finally heard "Suck" somewhere other than my own iPod yesterday—in the courtyard of a shopping center—so it's nice to know it's getting airplay amongst the mall set. That's almost as classy as when I was at a restaurant with my entire family on Father's Day last June, including my grandparents, and "I Kissed A Girl" started playing really loudly. I think granny dug it.
Speaking of Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson did an interview with PopEater.com, and here's what she had to say about being compared to the "Hot N Cold" broad:
"I like Katy Perry. Katy and [new American Idol judge] Kara DioGuardi wrote a song, ‘I Do Not Hook Up,’ which is probably going to be my second single. But we're very different. I honestly don't think we're very comparable. I’m a huge Katy Perry fan, but no, I think people are saying that because I worked with Max [Martin] and [Dr.] Luke. But I mean, I worked with Max and Luke before [her]."
She also denied being a lesbian. (Classy that they asked!)
"I get that all the time. People are like, 'Are you secretly a lesbian? Because I’d really love it.' Lesbians tell it to me all the time. I’m like, 'I’m glad it works for you and I wish I liked women like that because oftentimes men are very hard for me, but I happen to like boys.' I could never be a lesbian. I would never want to date [someone like] myself, ever. I’m a crazy person. I need some kind of stable, quiet man."
Quiet and stable? I'm all wrong for you, then, Kelly. *Sigh* But I love that she said "oftentimes men are hard for me."
OTHER GROOVES: It's a second week at #16 for Pink's "Sober," while the Veronicas' "Untouched" drops to #20 after peaking at #17 . Meanwhile, Lady GaGa's "Poker Face" jumps nine positions to #23, and Katy Perry's atrocious "Thinking Of You" leaps into the Top 40 at #35.
The way she sings that song sounds like she's got marbles in her mouth. And it makes me want to take a shotgun and shoot them outta there.
'My preacher mother dated Jimi Hendrix before finding God,' claims Katy Perry
Katy Perry's religious parents may have been outraged by her hit track I Kissed A Girl, but it seems they weren't always quite so conservative.
The 24-year-old singer claimed the couple, now both evangelical Christian preachers, once mixed within the 1960s psychedelic scene.
'My mum went on a date with Jimi Hendrix. My dad was a part of Strawberry Fields Forever and hung out with Timothy Leary,' she said in an interview on Katie Couric's All Access Grammy Special.
Leary was considered a counter-culture icon who advocated psychedelic drug research and promoted the spiritual benefits of LSD.
'My parents have stories. They probably have better stories than I do.'
'And they found God. They needed to find God. Not that they needed to find God, but God found them, really.'

Mrs Hudson said of her first hit single: ‘I hate the song. It clearly promotes homosexuality and its message is shameful and disgusting.
‘Katy knows how I feel. We are a very outspoken family and she knows how disappointed her father and I are. I can’t even listen to that song.
'The first time I heard it I was in total shock. When it comes on the radio I bow my head and pray.’
Katy appeared in the video for the hit in revealing lingerie and posing provocatively, surrounded by writhing models.
Mrs Hudson claimed her daughter, who grew up singing in church, had been led astray by the music industry.
Unlikely crowd: Katy says her parents mixed with the likes of rocker Jimi Hendrix and Timothy Leary, who advocated psychedelic drug research

She said: ‘Katy is our daughter and we love her but we strongly disagree with how she is conducting herself at the moment.
'We cannot cut her out of our lives as she is our child but she knows we disagree strongly with what she is doing and the message she is promoting regarding homosexuality which the Bible clearly states is a sin.
'But the Bible also promotes understanding and forgiveness, which I keep reminding myself.

Katy has previously acknowledged the rift with her parents, saying: ‘I stopped trying to change them at 21.’

The Grammy Nominee Kisses And Tells All To Katie Couric
(CBS) Katy Perry may be known for her wild stage outfits and bi-curious ode to sexual experimentation, but it’s her parents, she explains to Katie Couric, who may be the real wild ones.
"My parents have stories. They probably have better stories than I do," she says in an interview on Katie Couric's "All Access" Grammy Special, to be broadcast Wednesday, Feb. 4 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on CBS.
The daughter of travelling ministers, Perry reveals that despite their devout Evangelical beliefs, her parents have a past that’s more rock star than religious - her mother dated rock legend Jimi Hendrix and her father hung around with 60’s counterculture icon, Timothy Leary.
"He was part of the Strawberry Fields Forever," Perry says about her father. "[But] they found God, you know? They needed to find God. Not that they needed to find God, God found them, really."
Perry visits a New York City church with Couric, where she explains her religious upbringing, which included the Pentecostal practice of speaking in tongues. "You know, there was a movie or a documentary called ‘Jesus Camp,’" Perry tells Couric, "and I watched it and I was like, ‘Oh my Gosh, I didn’t know they had behind-the-scenes footage of my childhood!’"
Now the girl who grew up listening to the soundtracks of films such as "Sister Act" - 1 and 2 - and “The Preacher’s Wife,” is nominated for Best Pop Vocalist for her controversial chart-topper, “I Kissed a Girl.” And her parents couldn’t be prouder.
“They may not be singing along with everything,” she says, “but they are very happy."
"All Access" will also feature Couric's interviews with Justin Timberlake, Lil’ Wayne and Taylor Swift and appearances by the Jonas Brothers, Carrie Underwood, John Legend, Ne-Yo, Metallica and many more.
