Hey admins, serious suggestion

I'd highly recommend taking out HTML support altogether. I've seen bad things happen to forums when HTML is left on. vbcode is more then enough.

I'd also disable Flash in sigs, that's been known to do things like automatically make people start posts that say "I'm pleasuring myself with cheese". Honest to god.

Oh, and you should hide a button somewhere on the page that makes you burst into flames when you click it. Like this:

if a member did post a link that makes a computer catch on fire then one of our admins would blow their computer up since we convieniently have all your ips logged

I know. ^_^

Seriously though. HTML is baaad.

I take this from personal experience on one of the biggest phpBB boards, TribalWar.

While they're not exactly the same, HTML is still bad business.

To give a nice graphic example, there's a website called collegehumor.com - They posted a photoshop that someone on the OTHER message board I talk on (tribalwar) had created, and they watermarked it as their picture. It pissed off some of the guys at Tribalwar, so they decided to do a forum invasion.

Because HTML was enabled, they were doing things such as changing the background of every page to the goatse guy (don't ask if you don't know), and making a thread auto-forward to tubgirl (also don't ask). They were embedding midi files and huge 30 megabyte wave files of annoying sounds.

So yes, HTML off is a VERY good idea.

Eh, I'm not exactly a hacker ;P

I'm more of a jack-of-all-trades when it comes to computers. Not exceptionally good at any one thing, but i'm decent at a lot of stuff.

Might wanna make an announcement telling people to re-do their sigs in vbcode instead of HTML. Just a suggestion.
