Question for Bandaids staff - unable to access bandaids from home
Hello. Since about 3+ months ago, I am unable to access the site at home with my DSL connection, and my ISP refuses to help me. The problem is that it says "host avrilbandaids.com cannot be found"
Is there any way to access this site by using an IP address directly?
I will greatly appreciate any help with this problem, since right now I can only access the site at the office, and there are no other viable conusmer-level ISP's I can switch to where I live.
Thanks!!

I'm not really sure how to help with this issue. I'd really like to though. Perhaps check if Bandaids blocked for some reason. You haven't been banned, lol so don't worry .

Not to hijack your thread but I've been having a similar problem. I can't seem to access the Off-Topic section and some threads and every time I try I get a 504 Gateway Timeout Error message. My friend who knows a little about computers said it was either the Bandaids host or my internet provider which is AOL. I thinking it's probally AOL though as I heard of other people having similer problems. I contacted AOL but they were no help at all.

About 3 months ago Bandaids changed to a new server.
At the time the old and new Bandaids were both runing at the same time ,
Quite a few of us were being bounced from one to the other and stuck in the old forums for a few weeks.
We had to wait till the old server deleted their Bandaids and for our ISP to update their address list.
I think that is right or atleast how I understood it
It sounds to me like your ISP has not Updated the Address list for Bandaids and that when you try to access you are being directed to the old address by you ISP which no longer has this site.
I think its your ISP`s problem and you should harass them till they up date their list.
could you acces this site from Google ?
It is possible to access site`s by using an IP address directly but I dont know how to do it I think you just type the Ip address in your web browser , I dont have the IP but I will look for you .
A administrator should know then you could save it in your favourites.
I dont know if you would be able to navigate the forums properly if you couldn`t do it from google.
and you could get one to contact your ISP because other people might have the same problem.
or it could be Blocked because Tiscali ( my ISP ) Block sites

Hi, thanks for your input. It is definitely a problem with the ISP. They already confirmed it that they cannot access the site with any PC with DMAX (that's the name of their DSL service). They just won't do anything about it. I reported it 6 weeks ago, and every time i try to check status, all they tell me is that it's a problem of the ITS department, and that they cannot do anything about it. I ask for the contact info. for the department, but they won't give it to me. I have threatened them with cancelling the service, but its an empty threat (and I guess they know it) because right now there are no other real internet service alternatives in my area. There is a cable company that offers 5 Mbps cable modem, but the cost is sky high. It is a very frustrating situation. And with the start of the world tour just a few months away, I don't want to be without Bandaids.

It has nothing to do with their computer. It's their internet provider that's screwed up.
Did you try using different proxies like Brian suggested?
