This is a SpammerDay Saturday Frequently Asked Questions thread. It could be used as a reference thread or review thread. Questions and answers may be updated and altered with each SDS.
What is SDS?
SpammerDay Saturday, or SDS for short, is a whole Saturday (sometimes weekends) dedicated to posting maniacally in the designated threads we make in the Off Topic - Posting Games & Sundry section and The Best Damn Forum - Avril Posting Games & Polls section of the forums. SDS threads should have 'SDS' somewhere in the title, and are usually posted the night before.
What do you post on the Spam threads?
SDS usually happens very fast, so anything that will get many posts in a short period of time. This includes posting random letters, numbers, symbols, repeatedly over and over again. It may sound boring, but according to recent studies, it does have an effect of relieving stress and headaches.

If you're not convinced, come try it yourself!
When does it happen?
This event happens at least every 2 months, or whenever something big happens on the forums, such as the ABAs (Avril Bandaids Awards), Avril's wedding anniversaries, and notable birthdays. Usually Announcement Threads are posted a week or so before in the Off Topic section of the forum, so keep an eye out for them!
How can I be part of it?
Participation on SDS is very simple - anyone can be a part of it! The point is to have everyone involved and bond towards a common goal. But how can someone bond with spam, may you ask. It is very indeed possible; some members who only used to lurk the site one time decided to participate in an SDS and became pretty active on the forums. Very many people were introduced this way, and theyhave been happy on the forum ever since. Some even became staff members! (We got Bandaids Administrator Open Your Eyes and Moderator Your Worst Nightmare to be active, because of an SDS. Look at them now!)
What threads can I post on during an SDS?
There are quite a couple of threads you can post on during this event. The major ones include the official SDS thread in the Avril Games forum and 3 official threads in the Off Topic Games forum.
The Off Topic Games SDS threads include the Conversive Thread, the Non-Conversive thread, and the BUPPPT (Brendon Urie Picture Posting Party Thread). The Conversive thread is where you may talk among other members about SDS, or whatever you feel like. It's more of a social thread. The Non-Conversive thread is the spam thread, where you may post how you please, when you please. Usually, if a Non-Conversive thread gets too crowded with people, there is another one made available. There are at least 3 Non-Conversive threads going at one time - for your browser's good health, and your spamming pleasure.
The one and only official SDS thread in the Avril Games forum at this point is decicated to pure "Avril Spam," like the non-conversive thread, only the spam must be related to Avril in a way. Great way to study your Avril knowledge.
What are the rules?
There are only a couple general rules for the whole SDS. There are other rules written specifically for each thread in the first post, but they are pretty general and nothing too hard.
Here is a list of general rules that count for every SDS thread:
- You may only spam on the SDS in your timezone. Unfortunately, the threads will be posted Friday night based on the US Mountain timezone (GMT -7; with Daylight Savings GMT -8), so you can work that out.
- Try to be considerate of others, and don't argue. This is about "togetherness" and encouraged to be enjoyed together.
- The Official SDS threads will be posted by any of the following staff members: staticrebelle, Twisted Revolution, elastics., or myself. They should be labeled 'SDS', so don't post in any other unofficial-"SDS" threads.
- We encourage everyone to post in the Conversive thread! Have a chat with your fellow Bandaiders while you spam. It's all good.
What happens if I break the rules?
A simple gentle warning will be given. But if it continues excessively after a couple warnings, ban warnings will be isssued and can lead to temporary forum explusion, depending on the situation. But we trust nobody would plan to act this way, so there isn't a need to worry.
What if I don't want to post spam? Is there anything else I can do instead?
Of course! SDS isn't just about spam, it's just to get everyone doing something for the forum. There is a thread every SDS where you can post pictures of your favorite bands or artists (or anything, really) called the Brendon Urie Picture Posting Party Thread, or BUPPPT for short. It's name was originally from a Brendon Urie (lead singer of pop-rock band, Panic! At The Disco) tribute to his photogenic snapshots. It is, however, open for picture posting of any other band or artist, Avril included.
There are also two forums that you can post on: Posting Games and Sundry (Includes active forum games and polls), and Avril Posting Games and Polls (Same as PG&S, except everything is Avril-related).
Who runs SDS?
SDS is run by a team of members and staff members. Usually Bandaids administrators plan and elaborate an SDS, then it gets approved by staticrebelle. Vintage Disposition is the official SDS Coordinator, usually helped by Bandaids Administrators Open Your Eyes, Smappy, Twisted Revolution, and elastics. Bandaids member disco lemonade is known for posting and being in charge of the BUPPPT since the very beginning.
Why SpammerDay Saturday? Who came up with this idea? How does it affect Bandaids?
SpammerDay Saturday has been around for a while now. It was first started back in March 2006 by a complete loser named Corrine

She was indeed practiced in the art of forum spamming, and wanted to share the joy of it with the rest of the Bandaids Community. The idea came during a long, boring math lesson and was later approved by the wonderful Queen of Bandaids herself, staticrebelle. During the months, the simple idea of SDS became elaborated and is now as huge as it is. The first end of the day tally was around 2,000-3,000 posts (with 15-20 people participating), and today that total can now be completed by a single person in a couple of hours.
SDS is known to be very beneficial for the forum's friendship and activity. We love doing these events to get everyone involved. This is a very precious community as it is, and we want more people to be part of it and to share our days with.
Do we get any rewards or prizes for participating in SDS?
Yes! Every SDS we have this BandaidsBux Distribution system that will pour in the BandaidsBux:
BandaidsBux System (if you're confused, just post your heart out and wait for all the BandaidsBux wash in)
500 - 1,499 posts = 250-749 bonus bbx (750-2,248 total)
1,500 - 4,999 posts = 1,500-4,999 bonus bbx (3,000-9,998 total)
5,000+ posts = 10,000+ bonus bbx (15,000+ total)
Also on specifically designated days, we also give out totally-rad Avril merchendise, including signed T-shirts and the like. Keep posted for when we do!
Any other questions can be asked here in this thread.
See you on SDS!
