Yeah, it might have been a bug of somekind. I used to get that A LOT. Then I got this thing on Firefox where you delete all of your browsing history, cookies, downloads, etc. automatically after you close the browser and it helped preventing it from happening. It does get annoying when you have to type in the passwords to every site you're going on everyday, but at least it keeps me from forgetting them.
Or you can just clear your internet files every once in a while. That might be easier.

Like HotRunaway wrote, just use Firefox (3) or Opera. Internet Explorer gets fucked up all the time, nothing special about that.

I delete my history, cookies and files etc every week at least I also scan the computer few times a week. It does help and internet also goes faster because of doing that. Next to that my computer doesn't act wierd any more.
