Yes. I know you were talking about addons for Firefox but i mean, you don't need any addons for Opera, you can get addons if you want but blocking sites and scripts and things like that can be done by editing text files. I have done it a million times.

Well, if i was to download illegal stuff like copyrighted software and enter all those dangerous sites, yes, I would be at risk but i never enter these sites so, in my opinion, a firewall is enough.

The addon or rather extension you mean is called "NoScript". But that isn't something for the casual surfers, rather for the ones who know that they block and what not...if you know what I mean.

I don't need addons for opera, I only allow some scripts, not all of them, you know there are harmful scripts on lots of sites, not only those from where you download software and all that. There are network viruses, there is spyware, adware, tracking cookies everywhere. A firewall will keep the ports closed and useful against the action of trojans, but the pc can get infected having an excellent firewall or router. Sometimes msn messenger is dangerous! Some kind of advertisement takes your browser to sites you don't want to visit. Hijackers exist! You never know what will happen when you click on a link just to watch a video or a picture. There are lots of sites linked to the one you are entering.
So I'm careful.*

Network viruses? I hate them They can infect all your network. Spyware sucks but there isn't any really important information they could get.

I know. My router simply blocks incoming connections. That's it.

Hmmm. Well yes, that's true. The ads can link you to dangerous sites. I know.

Hmmm i like this post. I don't use an antivirus because i don't want my computer to take forever to load and I don't really need it, i don't have problems with viruses.
