okay well i totally disagree with wat u just said lewis cos its a avril site but isn't the whoel threads thing there to tlak about avril and other common interests people have with other avril fans not just avril??

anyway i'm not arguing with anyone over this its just alot of people feel like the staff are too strict at times is all i'm tryign to say and i'm slao mainly aiming the blog at people who are overreacting about things!!! and i can't give any examples cospeople will eat the head off me cos the only one i have is recent!

anyway here are the rules from another site i use which is pretty fair to me, rasism discrimination and bullying are always rules anyway but anyway here they are form another site

I did NOT get banned for being negative. i just joined and someone thought i was a spammer cause the majority of posts were t4p. i was a noob and was trying to look at the site and find my way around. and get to know people. can i help i was shy? no. it was only 64 posts btw its not like it was in the 1000s. and if i had been warned i would have known the admin had a problem. and now we have a spam thread and SDS. oh the irony.

You got in trouble because you talked about spaceships? You just mentioned them again, looks like someone is getting spaaaanked.

Some other fansite's you have to literally jump threw flaming hoops to join by giving full on resume type registrations, this fansite is pretty lenient as for debates go, obviously personal attacks or unbased vicious comments about Avril example "Avril is a hore" would go untolerated for good reason.

Yeah, but for the most part forums I see are just so much more relaxed. Like, the staff responds to the problems as people and not ~*offical staff members. If someone calls someone else fucking stupid, instead of being all OMGZ U BROKE THE ROOLZ they'll be like whoa, calm down, you can't say those things. The regular members agree, and in that sense they are equal. They really only exercise their "staff position" occassionally,and only when someone is on the verge of getting banned. Here, it's like all you see is the staff acting as a staff member and not just talking to someone as a person and responding to it as people without their position being brought into it.

Just... solve problems as people. If someone is pissed, calm them down by approaching them as just another member, not constantly making threats. You don't have to always work toward improvement, improvement, improvement. Just talk to each other and put the constant infraction, improvements, new ideas, etc thing to rest.

I honeslty don't think the staff needs to explain why someone got banned, because somethings are not supossed to be said on the forum and un needed. When someone got banned you mostly can guess why that was. next to that you can always ask one of the staff. And when it comes to closing threads, I think sometimes an explaination would be nice, but if people are having a pointless fight in a thread in the media section, about someone acting like a 4 year old, thats just pointless and speaks itself why it got closed.

And about the admins. I guess it's good having this many, since there is alot of things to do on Bandaids to keep everything they way it is.
