here's my new fan fic. hope you like it!
I knew from the moment I woke up that today was just going to be one of those days. One of those days when the unusual happens, when all sense of reality is lost, and one of those days when even the most confident person could cower in embarassment...yeah, today was definately going to be one of those days.
I yawned and literally had to force myself to get out of bed, wiping the drool off the side of my face as I did so. I rolled my eyes; drooling was so disgusting, but I couldn't help it, honestly.
Today was the day of the music festival in Los Angeles. I was really excited. The guys and I have been working our asses off to make sure this whole show comes together. Although we'll only be a portion of the show, we still had to make sure that we were one hundred percent prepared.
Sluggishly, I started to walk down the stairs. I had to grip the hand rails for extra support. But as fatigue took a hold on every part of my body, I slipped and had to cling to the rail at the last moment, or I defiantely would've fallen. "Fuck..." I muttered as I regained my balance.
I didn't know why I was so tired today. I didn't have a hang over, and I went to bed early...what the hell was wrong with me? I shook it off and trudged into the kitchen. Then, I fixed myself a bowl of cereal.
As I ate, I thought about the festival. We were going to be in the presence of greatness today. The other acts featured Green Day, a few other bands, and last but not least, Sum 41, a band that I had loved for a long time. What was even more cool though, was that they were from Canada, just like me. I had never met any of the guys, and I wasn't really expecting to today, but if I happened to, all in all, I'd be a very happy person.
I put my bowl in the sink then ran upstairs to get dressed, feeling more awake now. I pulled out a pair of black pants, a grey t-shirt, and my Converse. After quickly changing into them, I went into the bathroom to work on my hair and make up. Luckily, I wasn't really into the whole high fashion shit, so this process didn't take that long. I ran my brush through my hair a few times then looked it over, just to make sure it was a perfectly straight as possible. Then, I worked with my make up. Just a little eye make up would do, and maybe some cover up.
When I was done, I grabbed my car keys then headed towards the stage where I would be performing.
Excitement grew inside of me as I drove down the road. I enjoyed festivals like this because it was a great opportunity to meet other artists and bands. One never knew what to expect with events like these, but I guess that was a good thing.
When I pulled up the festival, a few fans had already showed up and were basically tailgating before the show. The scene reminded me of a football game. I drove around to the back next to the band busses. There were a lot of them, too. After I parked my car, I hopped out and looked around. Immediately I spotted Sum 41's bus, but I figured they were backstage practicing. Even if they were in the bus, I wasn't about to knock on the door and be like, "Hey, I'm Avril Lavigne, want to be best friends forever?" No, it certainly did not work like that.
So, instead, I walked around behind the stage, looking for my band. When I finally spotted Devin, I smiled and made my way over to them.
"Av!" Matt Brann exclaimed. He ran over to me and rubbed my head roughly. I smiled and started beating his arm.
Devin was standing with his guitar already hanging loosely from his shoulder.
"Are you guys ready?" I smiled. "Apparently Devin is."
Devin chuckled, "Fuck yeah I'm ready! Let's get this show on the road!" Devin was awesome, he reminded me a lot of Evan.
"When do we go on?" I asked.
Matt looked at a whiteboard, "We're on deck right now."
I nodded and reviewed the setlist in my head. My Happy Ending, Complicated, Don't Tell Me, and then we'd close with Sk8er Boi.
Suddenly a man called over a megaphone, "Avril Lavigne and band, take your places!"
At that, we rushed to the stage, adrenaline pumping like crazy.
