What's your favourite John Hughes film?

As you probably know, the director John hughes died recently of a heart attack after spending many years as a recluse on a farm with his family.

John Hughes made some of the best films of the 80s and early 90s, his highest regarded work being his teen films.

Personally, I love Ferris Bueller's Day Off. I have seen that movie so many times, I can recite it by heart, and yet I never get sick of it. I am also a fan of Pretty in Pink and Some Kind of onderful, which are basically the same movie but with the genders reversed.

I still watch the badly-censored version on TBS whenever I catch it.

Haha, TBS... don't they usually cut out the scene where they're smoking joints, so it skips right to them acting high for no reason?

Lol yeah, it makes it so dumb and random. They also overdub some of the 'questionable' language, but they do it very poorly and it's clearly not the same voice or anything close to the right word.

So I saw Ferris Bueller's Day Off on TV last night for the 230984720340 time and we picked out some flaws in it that kinda make me sad to have noticed. Such as:

-they attend a Cubs game. If they're only months away from graduating, it wouldn't be baseball season. It also wouldn't be that warm in Chicago.
-Ferris's sister is older than him, is she not? But if he's about to graduate high school.... why is she still there?
-the principal finally 'catches' Ferris right as he gets home, at 6:00. Only... school's out, and it's not really his problem anymore if Ferris was out of the house AFTER school hours
-why the hell is there still a busload of kids driving around at 6PM?
-as if the dean of students at a large suburban high school is ACTUALLY going to go that far out of his way to catch one truant student. Trust me, administrators don't actaully care if someone skips 9 days of school.

But still, love that movie.

John Hughes is a renowned personality but i don't like to watch his movies.

He's got quite a few good ones, it's hard to pick just one. But I'd have to say Planes, Trains and Automobiles and the Ferris Bueller's Day Off a close second. PTA is one of my all time favorites.
