He should go back to rock music. Starbucks Girl was a complete joke! He won't make it this way. I highly doubt it. Other than that, I love him. He's a nice guy. But his latest music is CRAP.
Just do the same his label does, wait til he gives up.
That he listens to his fans and interacts so much with them is good and I respect him for that.
My main problem is his music and the album, which seems to never get released.
I don't mind that he talks about Avril so much. He's like the only person who talks about her music, can't hate him for that.
Even after 5 years he still hasn't convinced people of his musical talents, so being friends with her is one of the only things that make him stand out, and it looks like having played guitar for Avril is the only reason why he got signed to a major record label. That does not make him look good as an artist.
And that his songs get more pop every day and songs like Starbucks Girl does make things only worse. That song was so bad, there was no way he could have put that on an album. In my opinion it's a maximum catastrophe of autotuned electropop trash and the "musicvideo" looked terribly amateurish. I've seen better from unsigned artists
He should have listened to his fans earlier before that...thing got released. Now the damage is done. I don't know why that was so hard to see coming, but 3 years ago his famous friend did the same mistake and was way worse. Avril could have avoided lot's of embarrassing moments if she had listened to her fans for just one time.
I hope both have learned from their mistakes.
I don't know why he adds so many computer generated effects, they make the songs sound like crap and they put him as an artist in a bad position.

He should have released his album(well, it should have been a good album too) in 2006 while Avril fans (I assume 99% of his fans are fans of Avril) were waiting for her 3rd record, or a more rockish record in 2009 after most Avril fans were sick of the poppy TBDT.
now his only chance to sell records is to get that album out before Avril releases her new music and to tour with her. He could still sell albums by having more of Avril on his CD(and I think Avril would surely help him before the label drops him), but if she's the only reason why that album gets bought, I'm not sure if he would be proud of that.
Evan is just ridicolous at this stage. He has lost all sight of what he started to do, which was to make music. He has become fame-hungry and is doing ANYTHING to become a famous musician. Most artists would KILL to have a music base like his. He has a lot of fans, supports some cool acts. Why can't he appreciate the popularity he already has, and stop doing stupid stuff. Like Merry Swiftmas, cute song, but only written to get noticed. He wants to be a huge pop artist and I dont get why he cant just make good music and stop tryin to create some stupid over the top pop tune that he thinks will get some spins on radio. He's a successful song-writer, he tours with bands, he knows fucking Avril Lavigne. What more does he want? If his career exploded because of good music then good for him, but I think he's greedy and fame hungry. I dont like what he's become.
The problem is Evan hasn't even released enough/an album to really judge if he's great or not. "Cheater of the Year" and "Boy Meets Girl" were released about a year ago and both are okay songs, but he hasn't pu his name out there to release music since then. Wasn't the album supposed to be out summer of last year? Then fall? And now spring? It won't be released this year either... probably. And they thought all he had to finish was the artwork of the album...

I used to like Evan a lot (back when Avril came out) now not anymore. I just lost interest. Some of his lyrics are pretty good but I do not enjoy listening to his voice, there's not special about it. But I don't think he's using Avril's fame but Taylor Swift's fame to get recognition. She's the biggest artist right now and he talks like A LOT about her. I had a fansite about her and her promo team asked me to post on my site LOL. I didn't to thatI think he is more the type of artist who produce and write for other artists. I don't see him getting famous as solo artist. He's been trying for longer than 6 years now and I don't see any process.
Evan if you read this: I hope you aren't offended. I'm just being honest about what I think about this. I still think you are awesome and talented but not fan of your work and music.
I don't think Evan uses Avril fans AT ALL... He's a great musician, artist and singer.
I don't see him as far up his own ass.
