The reason for what i think Deryck it's there, is that he mixed Alice, and Avril felt she could appreciate his work on her Song and her Album by inviting him (Besides paying him, off course. )

That Journo was:

A) Either unaware of Mr D behind Avril, or didn't know who he was.
Meaning she knows Gossip but not facts.

B) Or she was hoping that Avril would give a sound bite or give an over reaction.

Avril of course wasn't there to talk about her personal life - when has she ever talked about her personal life? She was there for the film and the OS song, thats it. On the red carpet people talk about clothes, about the movie, about the weather, about the honour of being involved, not about their martial troubles.
