How do people act on the internet, do they pretend to be someone different or do they show their realself that they can?t show in real life?
This survey is made for to evaulate if people act differently or if they represent themselves better on the internet. 1. Do you use your real name on the forums, websites,gamesites and etc?
a- Yes, I use my real name
b- It depends. I sometimes use my real name and I sometimes do not.
c- No , I never ever use my real name because I do not want to give my name out.
d- I really do not know because I am not a kind of person who registers, joins and posts on anywhere on the internet, I just use it for searching things.
e- No, I do not use my real name because I do not like my real name so I use the name I wish my parents would name me.
2. Do you tell lies about your life and yourself while talking to someone you know via forums,fansites,game sites, and any kind of sites like that?
a- Of course! I do it all the time.
b- Sometimes it is because I feel like I have to do when it seems to be necessary.
c- No way, I would never do it.
d- I have no idea because I have never talked to someone who I met on the internet.
e- I do not lie about myself but I do lie about others because you know there is something called white lie so I do it in purpose to make them smile.
3. If you tell lies about yourself and your life on the internet, why do you do it?
a- I do it because I am not pleased with who I am. I would rather be someone different!
b- I do it if I do not trust the person I am talking to at that moment.
c- I never do it because I am me and I can not change it.
d- Well, I am not kind of an internet person so I really can not answer this.
e- I do it because I hate my life,my parents and everything I have! Okay everything I do not have because I never have got treated well by parents and friends in real life so I choose to lie in order to make myself feel better.
4. When you are on a forum,or somewhere on the internet where you can talk and discuss with others, do you express your own opinions or do you just claim the opinion most of people expressed on the board?
a- I just tell what I think of at that moment because I believe we are free to share our own ideas and we all should respect it as long as we do not hurt each other with bad words and bashing.
b- I sometimes have no idea about something so I act like I agree on the opinion what most of people on the board said not to look reckless. Other than that I defend my own idea if I know what is being discussed and what it is talked about well.
c- I always act like I agree with most people on the board because they might like me more than and I think you should assort yourself with others to become popular and loved, and not to feel alone.
d- I have never been a member of a forum or board where you can discuss things.
e- I even do not post on the boards, even though I am a member of the board because I am too shy to discuss with others so I feel myself uncomfortable doing it.
5. How do you act on the internet?
a- I act totally different because I want to be someone else, not me! I wish I could be more different in real life,too because I can pretend to sound and look like the way I want to seem in real life. To add one more thing, no one would know me so I act like I am a perfect person and it is fun!
b- To be honest, I sometimes do it because there are moments I am not satisfied with myself and there are some things I would like to change about who I am but I can not change it so I pretend to be me without the sides of me which I do not want to have but I have no other choice apart from having it forever.
c- I do not act because I do not talk to people on the internet.
d- I act like who I am in real life because I am a member of such an awesome community and I do believe in and trust the friends I have there and there is no need to hide who I am because I can not change who I am until I die, I have to live with that and be in peace with myself.
e- I act like the way I want to be in real life, on the internet because I am a shy person and I can not express myself well in real life because I am too sensitive and I care too much about what other people think of me. But it is different on the internet and I feel myself better there and I can state my opinions more comfortably.[/QUOTE]
