its pathetic for her to say " we are revolutionizing top 40 radio folks....songs with MEANING are the future of successful music" when she is not responsible for any songs with meaning in the charts but is actual one of the people responsible for the most shallow meaningless songs around and she makes a living off that meaningless commercial tat .
its pathetic because its major hypocrisy , it would be like simon complaining about tv talent singing contest and manufacture artists but at the same time boasting about how he revolutionised the top 40 away from manufactured artist and talent show .

Just because it's made by a major record label, it's meaningless?

I know it was made to make money, I know the label paid Skylar to write such lyrics for Eminem. I know this was invented to be on radio. What has that got to do with the meaning of the song? Skylar wrote meaningful lyrics to a song that was meant to be a hit.

Just because this is a major pop song, paid for by a major record label and marketed by a major artist does not take away from the meaning! Are you saying only indie small artists with labels who have little money are the only people who can release meaningful songs?

Who cares if a #1 pop song can have meaninful lyrics? What does it take away from anyone? Nothing.

You're being closed minded and judging an artist by their label, hype and financial value. It has nothing to do with the song.

Major artists, with big song-writers, who have big labels can have meaningful songs. 'Im With You' is proof of that.

There is absoloutly nothing wrong with co-writing. It just means Avrils ideas are more developed and her songs are more catchy.I would like Avril to write a few songs on her own but an entire album is a bit much. Your clearly not a fan so you shouldn't be wasting your time here. Just because a songs gonna be about Brody doesn't mean it'll be bad. I care about the emotion she's singing about not the person who could also be Deryck as Avrils been working on this album for 2 and a half years
