A new album means *fingers crossed* a return to the MMVA stage. Avril’s infamous first appearance included a belt-less ensemble that resulted in the young singer mooning the crowd for the duration of her performance, a wardrobe malfunction that she joked about in later MMVAs. Her first performance may have had a bit of a crack in it, but Avril at the MMVAs is always perfect to us.

5. Not just a pretty face

Not only has she made a career as one of the most successful pop singers of all time, but Avril Lavinge’s skills as a songwriter is a force to be reckoned with. I hope Avril comes to muchmusic to promote the album besides playing the mmva's, Avril played "girlfriend" at the mmva's and that was it as far as promotion went with the last album, like the intimate and interactive special she did promoting UMS by answering questions and playing songs off the album.

Is Canadian promo important to a singer in Hollywood with a record deal from a major label's US division?

I also worry about Japanese promo taking precedence over US marketing. It seems her label is doing their best but maybe it's too late.

Sincere is cutting edge and Avril has always been on the bully tip from "Complicated" to "Nobodys home" to "Girlfriend" she is chock full of judgement all with a bitchy sneer.

She would fit right in today however, if she really was what she says she is "deep" and an "artist" and a "songwriter".

She didn't prove herself to be a good songwriter or deep at all with TBDT, just more unwarranted arrogance.

GL is Av's last chance unless she wants to move to a non English speaking country where her Western skin color, hair, and attitude are revered as a mark of a true artist, born to rock and roll.

Americans (who invented rock and roll) as a whole are underwhelmed.

I hope the album is awesome!!!! And kicks ass and she proves herself but no one will care if she has these immature insensitive silly singles.

^^ Of course it's important - Avril has always been marketed as an international artist. She sells a lot more records outside of the US than inside the US.

Keeping her as US-centric would be pointlessly cutting her off from huuuuuge markets for her music around the world.
