some people can't be statisfied...
the record is out for a few months...maybe 1 month?! and nothing is for sure now...no one knows how the 5th record will be like. the tour didn't even start, there's still promotion and you think about the 5t album?! and if it'll be TBDT2 doesn't matter if Avril wants another TBDT its okay its her decision. but I don't think we'll get another TBDT every record is different...doesn't matter how the record will be like I'll support her.
I really hope that Avril releases one day a rock or acoustic allbum!

on other hand, im losing my faith on Avril since she talked about adding the songs she did with alex on 5th album... It could be oriented rock songs but seriously i doubt it

Secondly she hasn't chosen the singles RCA did
Thirdly Upbeat doesn't neccisarily mean it has to be meaningless

This video was posted in the Predictions For Album #5 thread (which is where this whole discussion should be :rolleyes1 Avril went to Alex because she loved the sound of Airplanes, which is (half) rap. So it's not out of the question, but I don't think it would necessarily be a bad thing either.

The era is not over, I think this album will be her first gateway album. Like its crossover, half fun Avril and half serious. It's hard for her since fans want both.

Avril doesn't plan her albums. She does whatever she feels she needs to do. With Under My Skin she wanted to get darker, and she did. With The Best Damn Thing she wanted something fun, so she did it. With Goodbye Lullaby she wanted to be honest about her personal life, and she has.

So the fifth album is is gonna be whatever she wants it to be. Avril isn't Britney or Rihanna; she isn't going to make an album specifically to please fans or critics - shes going to make an album for herself.

Well, with Avril I don't think it's possible to make "TBDT 2.0" whether people see it or not, her music does change and evolve with each album, mixing elements from older albums into the new one, with new elements. Sure some songs off GL may SOUND like older stuff, but I could never picture these songs on any other album but GL. They just wouldn't fit until now. She maybe will do upbeat songs again, it's hard to guess as the album has only been out for a month. But you know we wont know until it's out! I had no clue what TBDT would sound like till I heard GF so I think she's good at keeping surprises for the most part. I'll support it whatever it sounds like, because I know that the songs will be Avril and she somehow always seems to make something I love. Though, I would love to see her do a more rock album (there can be UPBEAT rock songs :P)

There is that interview that she's looking forward to do a hard rock album and a side project heavy metal band.

I know she wants to do a rock or even jazz album considering that she listen to Nirvana and Jazz Musicians.

But we always have to remember and be considerate...
