The 5th Album Thread V.1

Let's not forget that she's a pop artist and whatever she is going into, this tag will probably follow her forever. Her punk-rock grunge tag is gone since TBDT and there is no way for her to do a comeback and get back the punk rockers on the fanbase. I think the type of music she's doing right now is a good mixture between rock and pop, soft and hard emotions, and a good mixture between teen and adult music as well. which is perfect to get a large audience. In the end, If she goes in another direction (dance or metal), I am sure she will brilliantly do it anyways! She will loose some fans but gain others. And I know she will work it out fine. She already make her mark, She won't fade that easily!

Avril was never punk, she was never even rock. She has always been pop and anyone who considered themselves "punk" called her a poser. TBDT people who weren't fans still called her a poser and on top of that she looked like a brat and immature. Let me guess you are going to say what about UMS? What about it? People said she was still a poser and angry.

Avril doing metal? yeah right, like that will fly with RCA, her voice isn't capable of it anyway and I can see hard core metal fans laughing their asses off at her. She has half the album done consisting of the Alex songs and Gone with a few probably by Butch and Evan. It'll be pop again so give up on hoping for Avril to continue with the Goodbye Lullaby image.

I never said I want her to turn into metal, that was just a random example.
And in my world, when Let go came out, she was named the punk rock princess. I dont know about your world though.

What I want from the 5th album is, pop,rock, a little goodbye lullaby style, and some rap! lol Think about it, it would be awesome!

I think it'll be a mix of fun pop and darker songs. I'd much rather she do an even mix rather than focusing on one kind of theme. I don't want it to sound like any of her other albums. I want it to be original. I hope they choose singles that show a difference in Avril's work. I think Avril reinventing herself in the past is part of why she's so successful and because of the GL singles people didn't see this re-invention. I also think the 5th album will show the path for Avril. Will she go down the Alanis or Madonna route? I really hope it's the Madonna route but most of all I hope she continues making amazing music.

I'm not so sure about that. Next album is her (supposedly) her last album with RCA. There are already a big amount of songs done for it (she said 8) and she wants to release it quickly. I'm open minded when it comes to music, and as long as those songs aren't bratty like TBDT album and WTH and Smile, I think I'll be fine with anything she releases.

I look forward to her first album after she leaves RCA (I think she will) and gets more creative freedom than she's had so far. I'm confident we'll see the best Avril when she gets more independent, creative-wise.
